I've read the Sleeping Beauty Chronicles. I'm not a fan of romance or "sex" books but this is the only series I enjoyed that would kinda fit in that classification.
Good books, kinda rounchy and left me literally sick to my stomach at times all the while a little turned on. Very interesting, I would recomend the books as well.

Super Wonderful List of Recommended Reading
Velvet Promise by Jude Deveraux
It is one of her earliest novels, the first of four in the Velvet series, which introduces the Montgomery men (technically The Black Lyon was, about some ancestors but it's not required to understand this series), her infamous family that she has written scores of novels about ranging from feudal England to the modern day. The series itself is amazing IMO and Jude is one of the best writers of this genre, to me. I've read the series several times over the years and always love them.

Hehe, indeedy!
Also, I've been in a Lovecraft mood of late...read At the Mountains of Madness last week (or the one before)...it was a bit more tedious than other stuff of his I've read...and not quite as suspenseful, though I think it was supposed to be.
But Lovecraft has inspired a slew of modern writers, with his style and with his Cthulhu mythos...and there's compilations of Lovecraft and Lovecraftian work usually filed under Lovecraft in the Sci-Fi or Fiction section at bookstores...many of these modern authors are great as well! In fact, Lumley has written a few that appear in these compilations, as well as a few series based on the Cthulhu mythos. All very entertaining!

I would recommend Tad Williams, The Dragonbone chair series is great, although it gets long (4 books).
I also like the Farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb, starting with Assassin's Apprentice. There are two other trilogies she did too, the one with the magic ships is OK, but the other trilogy with the character from the Assassin's Apprentice is really good also. They are a set of three trilogies laid out time wise although the middle one about the ships is not a necessary read to enjoy the first and third.
In general I also like C.S Friedman as an author. This alien shore is good, and its a single book not a series!
I like some books by Stephen Donaldson A Mirror of Her Dreams and A Man Rides Through, its an interesting setting. I think its good although not as good as some earlier suggestions.
I also like the series starting with The Bone Doll's Twin by Lynn Flewelling.
Also, if you only read Enders Game, I'd recommend reading the rest of the books in the series, I like Orson Scott Card, he is a good author.
Normally I don't suggest so many books, but this thread seemed kind of bare.

Ok I am an advent book reader. Some of the books that I loved reading (All fantasy btw) and still reread.
Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule Series. Total of 13 books in the series (13th book out November 13th of this year 4 days after my b-day know what I am getting late) There is a presequel book to this series called Debt of Bones. Kinda fills you in on what happened before the first book. SYNOPSIS:
Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule Series. Total of 13 books in the series (13th book out November 13th of this year 4 days after my b-day know what I am getting late) There is a presequel book to this series called Debt of Bones. Kinda fills you in on what happened before the first book. SYNOPSIS:
In the aftermath of the brutal murder of his father, a mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, appears in Richard Cypher's forest sanctuary seeking help…and more. His world, his very beliefs, are shattered when ancient debts come due with thundering violence.
In a dark age when it takes courage to live, and more than mere courage to challenge those who hold dominion, Richard and Kahlan must take up that challenge or become the next victims. Beyond awaits a bewitching land where even the beat of their hearts could betray them. Yet, Richard fears nothing so much as what secrets his sword might reveal about his own soul. Falling in love would destroy them - for reasons Richard can't imagine and Kahlan dare not tell him.
In their darkest hour, hunted relentlessly, tormented by treachery and loss, Kahlan cals upon Richard to reach beyond his sword - to invoke within himself something more noble. Neither knows that the rules of battle have just changed…or that their time has run out. (from Terry Goodkind's website)(This doesn't even do it justice. It's just a kickass serious.)
Another author I love is Melanie Rawn in particular her Exiles series. As of now there are only 2 books The Ruins of Ambrai and The Mageborn Traitor and forthcoming is The Capital's Tower (don't hold your breath on this one. Have been waiting way to long) Synopsis :An entirely new world, wherein three sisters fight a private battle, and the outcome will determine whether wild magic and wraithenbeasts will be unleashed upon the world of Lenfell. (From Melanie Rawn's website)
Ok 1 more then I will quit. If you like pain, fetishes and just kickass writing this is the series to read. Jacqueline Cary's Kushiel's Dart, Kushiel's Chosen, Kushiel's Avatar, Kushiel's Scion, and Kushiel's Justice. Synopsis first book :Description The land of Terre d'Ange is a place of unsurpassing beauty and grace. It is said that angels found the land and saw it was good...and the ensuing race that rose from the seed of angels and men live by one simple rule: Love as thou wilt.
Phè dre nó Delaunay is a young woman who was born with a scarlet mote in her left eye. Sold into indentured servitude as a child, her bond is purchased by Anafiel Delaunay, a nobleman with very a special mission...and the first one to recognize who and what she is: one pricked by Kushiel's Dart, chosen to forever experience pain and pleasure as one.
Phè dre is trained equally in the courtly arts and the talents of the bedchamber, but, above all, the ability to observe, remember, and analyze. Almost as talented a spy as she is courtesan, Phè dre stumbles upon a plot that threatens the very foundations of her homeland. Treachery sets her on her path; love and honor goad her further. And in the doing, it will take her to the edge of despair...and beyond. Hateful friend, loving enemy, beloved assassin; they can all wear the same glittering mask in this world, and Phè dre will get but one chance to save all that she holds dear.
Set in a world of cunning poets, deadly courtiers, heroic traitors, and a truly Machiavellian villainess, this is a novel of grandeur, luxuriance, sacrifice, betrayal, and deeply laid conspiracies. Not since Dune has there been an epic on the scale of "Kushiel's Dart"-a massive tale about the violent death of an old age, and the birth of a new.
Ok that is all for now. Sorry so long. Just thought I would put up some books and authors that I totally enjoy and reread these particular series.

I moved all the suggestions from the various book club master lists into one grand list of TAC recommended reading. People like giving recommendations and I thought it was a shame that so many great ideas were buried in a subforum :X. I'll be further reorganizing the book club section (still not willing to let it die!) and will start a suggestion thread to see if we can't get a thing going.

My first book was actually recommended to me by Verileah - took me forever to get aroudn to reading it.
The Diamond Age - Neil Stephenson : Fantastic book - extremely clever sci fi. I highly recommend this. It's a little slow to get into, but well worth it.
The Black Company - Glen Cook: Very dark gritty fantasy - I love it.
I'll second or third the Coldfire Trilogy.
If you haven't read Ender's Game yet you should quit your job and go buy it and start reading today. I should warn the sequels are very different in style.
And finally - I wasn't a huge fan of Hart's Hope, but I think it was just a style thing.

It's a sin that I haven't seen the Song of Ice and Fire books mentioned yet by George R. R. Martin. These books are the greatest thing since Day 3 of the creation, and they will change your life.
On another note:
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch is a FANTASTIC book. It's an easy read - it's kind of a caper, and has a pirate feel even though it isn't about pirates. It's also hilarious, and exciting, and very clever. I highly highly recommend this. The followup book is good as well, but not quite as much so. I laughed at some parts of these two books until I was almost in tears.

If I gave Song of Ice and Fire (book 3 being my favorite) a 10 - my next highest books would be in the 7 range. That includes Ender's Game - the subsequent Ender books, and Lies of Lock Lamora. Those two MIGHT push a low 8.

Also
Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons. I haven't read the last two in the series.
These are a wonderful blend of hardcore science fiction, philosophy, and religion all with a bit of artistic touch thrown in. Superb writing.
