Nora Roberts: Blue Dahlia
I have just finished the best book. Well not the best but it was really really good.
Nora Roberts has an amazing ability to paint her characters in broad vivid strokes, leaving much to the imagination, with out leaving the foundering. She uses her secondary characters as plot movers and page turners.
In this book you meet three amazing women each in a turning point in their lives and trying to find a new way (yes a plot seen many times, but still) in life.
She uses the main character's family as a means to give history with out taking up room in the book to spell it out for you. She does this especially well with the step-mother, who is by nature a gossip and a busy-body, but one of the sweetest nature that you don't become offended.
Stella is now one of my favorite heroines and I will be reading this book again and following up on her in the next two books as they are published.
