Angel & Demons Dan Brown

I just got this book on Friday night and couldn't put the book down. Finished it late last night. Has anyone else read this book? I know it's controversial but it was a great book. Now I want to read the other books he has read. I have already read The Da Vinci Code.

I read this one while waiting for the DaVinci code to finally come out in paperback. I really enjoyed it. I think he did a good job making the situation plausible, good enough to make you wonder if it just might be true. Easy read, moved quickly.

i have read one of the others as well - can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it was very similiar style wise...

I picked it up but put it back down again - it sounds almost exactly like DaVinci, but yeah I need to get it. Dan Brown knows how to grab you by the pigtails and run.

Yeah Angels & Demons was kinda like a prequel to Da Vinci Code. It introduced Robert Langdon to you what he was like before the other book. This book was awesome. Had my attention from the beginning and didn't want to put it down. I really think I am going to have to get his other books since the 2 books of his I have read I couldn't put down. When I get them I will give an update if they are as good as the other 2.

i hated the end of this book. not just the conclusion, but a whole mess of chapters at the end. come to think of it, i dont like the endings of any dan brown books.

ive also read davinci code, deception point, digital fortress, and maybe one other. thats how unremarkable i find his work. i cant even remember if i read another book.

dont get me wrong... the books are very entertaining, and he does a really good job at suspense and at making everything is SO detailed and accurate (ostensibly)... its just that the stories all seem formulaic to me. main character + romantic interest vs person-youd-never-know-is-a-traitor + person-you-think-is-a-traitor-but-isnt. yawn. after the first book, when you see the pattern emerging in the second, it almost gets boring.

not that i could do any better...

I never read the DaVinci Code, but I was one of the few who liked the movie, and am looking forward to this one too. I'm also glad Tom got a haircut ;-)

I have this coming next in my netflix queue. I had started reading the book and got almost halfway through but it didn't catch my interest like the DaVinci Code did. My review in a couple days!

Just got this today and just finished it. First off - never read the book first, then see the movie. The first 10 mins of the movie was a huge mish mash of the first 100 pages and it drove me absolutely bug fuck. However, I love me some Ron Howard and Tom Hanks, and chose to ignore the obvious and painful changes. Loved this movie :thumbsup Incredible twist ending (only got halfway thru the book) and amazing acting by Hanks.
