no, there isnt, unfortunately ;(
poser is great, but there's still a lot of very basic functionality missing.. that being one of them.
Stupid Poser Question
Is there any way to view a complete render in the Poser Render Screen, even if you are rendering the picture bigger than the screen? Normally, when I render bigger than the screen, there's a point where I can no longer see the scene being made, and if Poser stops for whatever reason, I don't know for a long time. If there was a way to make the actual render screen visible no matter how big I'm actually rendering the scene, it would help. This probably makes no sense how I asked the question. :)

I was talking to my dad earlier, he knows a lot about Photoshop and sizing images, and he suggested I try rendering at normal size but up the DPI as high as possible then resize in Photoshop. I don't know if it will work, but I'm going to give it a shot. Can't hurt.

im not sure how it would work. i do know that if you render at 800x600 300dpi, if you try to change that dpi to 72 (web) it shrinks the images widht/height, so he might be on to something there.

I rendered a picture http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/59028882/ and I set the settings to normal picture size but at 10,000 dpi (just for a test) and rendered. The picture rendered in 10 minutes (normal time for a normal sized render) and then I exported it as a PNG file. I opened the PNG file in Photoshop, and it was 1 inch big but 10,000 dpi. So, I cropped it at 300 dpi, and the picture grew to like 54 inches or something, but I don't think it lost integrity. I compared it to the scene in Poser, and the little bit of jaggy you see on the helmets and such are jaggy in Poser, as well. I think the scene turned out very well considering it started so small. *shrug* I might have discovered something, or I might just be hopeful. Take a look at the picture and let me know what you think about this plan, Vex.

i think you discovered the secret to your problem =D
10k dpi is a little excess , could probably get the same with 1000

Probably. As I said, I was experimenting. *shrug* At least it seems to work. I'll play around with it for a bit.

I'd be interested to know how you got poser to render at anything other than 72dpi if you're using P7 that is. Every time I set it to 300, and every time I open in PS and it's at 72 so I change it to 300 and keep the same size. *shakes fist*

I just always go to the Render scene, click on the top right where it has the dimensions of the piece, and it pops up a box that says "Render Dimensions." I click on "Render to Exact Resolution" and put in whatever information I want there. Nowadays, since my new idea seems to be working, I keep the dimensions the same and just change the Pixels Per Inch ratio to some extreme number. :) I'm not sure what patch Vex is talking about, but it's been this way for me ever since I bought the program back in March.

I think I downloaded SR1, but what did SR2 fix?

some more rendering issues i think.
my P7 RS2 renders higher tan 72dpi just fine.
render @ 500dpi -> enlarge -> reduce to 72dpi -> shrink further til your desired size is reached. very very slight blurring for me, that i fixed with the sharpen tool.

I haven't repatched again since I reinstalled it after telling SR1 to fuck off. I saw that SR2 was up, but haven't felt like dealing with it fucking up more than it fixes again. I just render huge and reset it to 300dpi in PS before I start post working. *shrug* I'll update it one of these days I reckon.
