Doll Love

I'd be curious as to how many women actually own a realdoll. It seems like it would be very small compared to the number of men, but then you have to think about how many women own vibrators vs how many men own masturbatory aides. There are waaaaay more vibrators out there than fleshlights, so who knows.

These guys are not hurting anyone with their dolls so its fine in my eyes.

Personally I don't think I could use a man real doll. That's just...well its staring at you. While you...ew. It's creepy to me but more power to women who drop the 7k to bump a doll.

Yeah...I guess that's what I'm torn on. On the one hand, no one is getting exploited (except, arguably, the people buying the dolls), but the attitudes it -may- reinforce are potentially harmful. (Is that qualified enough? lol). So no, not hurting anyone directly...but we're all sharing the same society, neh?

I mean, of -course- I'm not saying they should be outlawed - I'm just in the 'that's fucked up' camp.

Edit - I don't think I'm stating my thoughts well. It's not so much a problem with the dolls themselves, but rather the example 'relationships' portrayed on the special. Maybe sometimes it works and they only showed the extreme cases.

It wouldn't hurt these guys to get out and mingle - I mean really, they are using them as crutches, so to speak. Crutches with vaginas.

Everyone of these people displays a number of medically recognized mental disorders as recognized by the DMS-IV(R). These people need medical help and not the substituion of an object for a real relationship. Hell, I'm not even talking a romantic one, most of these guys pretty much keep to themselves. One still lives at home at 32, and another had their mother living with them till she died, when he was 50. Serious mental problems are evident in all of them.

although.. maybe its good the dolls are there so they arent in real life relationships.. whats a guy like that gonna do to a girl who dumps him, or cheats on him.. or something else.. Yes the definately need help.. but if the dolls are keeping them occupied til then.. *shrugs*

I'm willing to bet that a lot of these guys have already been cheated on and dumped and just generally mistreated and used by the women they've known in their lives. A lot of them have probably decided that they want nothing to do with real women any more, but unfortunately they are still heterosexual men with sex drives and a need for companionship. They're probably with the dolls out of extreme loneliness, rather than because of some sexual perversion.

And I'm willing to bet they had -something- to do with the failures in their real relationships. I don't like that it seems to be a given that women are so difficult, conniving, etc, that the dolls are a natural resort for the desperate.

I actually like difficult women...
