There's a thread about it over there in their forums, but chances are good that no, you don't need it. It's more for coding scripts and changing the interface and engine and such of D|S if I remember right.

so like, if I want to get add ons in the future this wont be some requirement?

if i should find i need this for daz, i would surely go for poser instead!

I wish they had put in the effort to make the description more clear, at least to people who know nothing, such as myself lol.
