I would suggest waiting at least a few more months before jumping into this game. They have some kind of plan to get everything up to the appropriate level for a 60 dollar third gen game and then do a 'relaunch' of the product, last I heard.

Im in Stoic Tenacity on the fv server, but we have three people from sol ro with the surname Weeple who claim its from there...

I'm kinda interested in this but not enough to shell out for 2 copies. We just got back into EQ2 and have the station pass so once this is relaunched we may check it out, if it looks good then.

6+ hour raids? good GAWD... OK NM no I don't wanna play this game. I despise raids with a passion. Admittedly all I ever did was public Vox/Naggy and a few with my very small guild but.. I hate the CONCEPT. =)

it is a totally different experience raiding with a guild of competent players. its a whole different game. really.

dont get me wrong, this game has NO raiding now and its very in depth and 3x more fun than EQ. Raiding will just be for the hardcore. There is a lot of classes, all the EQ ones and then hybrids like clerics and mages. Then there is like a bunch of crafting spheres, diplomacy and so on.

Everything is instanced now though, right? Don't ya'll miss the thrill of the race?

Racing was the ish =( VG has races but no camps.

When something named is due to spawn - much like EQ1 its a gang bang to see who gets "ownership" by hitting it first. Everything is timed exact to the second so its good times heh. 40 people waiting to shoot one mob with a 2 day spawn time

This game kick ass. Wish I had started playing upon release. It's got some buggy shit still, thanks to sony, but the things they did right more than make up for a few bugs.

Class balance is amazing. I'm a cleric and I can kick a shitload of ass solo, yet still heal a tank or two, and somehow not end up being overpowered. My group heal blows ass, I don't even have it hotkeyed anymore. Bloodmages are better group healers anyhow, but 1 AE or add wipes them. I like the platemail, shield, and mitigation of the cleric.

There are no instances in the game that I am aware of Roz. I could be wrong. But I've also not seen any issue with "camping". No golden efreeti boots etc. Quest mobs spawn fast enough and the quests are broad and varied enough to keep you thoroughly entertained.

Not sure about the endgame though, only in the mid 20's adventuring. I have been working on crafting lately as I can do it very easily while studying. Almost level 30 blacksmith, yes crafting has levels. Your character basically has three separate classes. His/her adventuring class, crafting class, and diplomat class.

you're lucky you waited it out. release was AWFUL. its probably 110% less buggy now that sony runs it than it was when sigil was working on it.

my cleric was pimp. i was the tank/healer while my bf was the rogue. he never could pull aggro.

i didnt make it too high. maybe level 40? it was slow shit.

and the end game right now there is questing / soloing for nice items and armor.

The raids are 2 weeks out

every class is good and clerics got retuned and powered up heavily to have different "spheres" like warrior, necro almost hybrids with cleric but your still a cleric

My hubby's on Xeth server too; he loves it and plays it every second he's not working or schooling. He loves his dwarfy cleric and kicks some pretty good butt with him too; currently he's working on getting himself some godawfully ugly dog-thing to ride...
