is this too dark?

I did this one a while back, and the guy is still saying its way too dark, but for me its on the border of being washed out... is it me? is it him?

I asked him to fiddle with his gamma both in game and his monitor settings to see if it brightens things a bit, but he says his monitors are good and dont need adjusting..

he also said his friends a pro at photoshop and said it needs to be deinterlaced.. i tried that and it jus tmade it look terrible..

It's his monitor, that's bright as hell to me.

Its his monitor. Pic shows up fine on my laptop and my desktop comps.

Ill let him worry about it then, Ive already adjusted it to this point, any more and I dont think itll look good..

No, that's his monitors. Because, its doesn't look dark to me its looks just right and looks like it is in the late afternoon. ^_^

yeah i agree its his monitor,.
think the background is overpowering him , its a bit to bight. just my opinion tho. if you still have the psd go dup his layer then set the dupp'd layer to screen and lower it a bit? /shrug

I think the background is just fine but the character is dark so maybe try as Adi said and make his details pop more.

well originally I did have it a little darker, when he first complained I brigtened the shadows and midtones a bit, i think then the balance between the character a nd forest were lost a little, even though its the same image.

Well he's nuts if he thinks it's still too dark it's damn bright right now. Nice picture btw :)

Definately not too dark here. My monitor displays spot on to what my printer puts out if that helps your arguement any hehe.

Yep, looks great and I wouldn't lighten it even a smidgen more :)
