if Im up.. ill take a pic.. chances arent great.. On the other hand, my dad works graveyard in a auto shop, and loves snapping pictures.. I can tell him to take his camera to work and get some pictures, we will see if he remembers :)

2:30 for us - I'll wait for the dvd.

lol - I've tried taking eclipse pictures before, and my camera, as good as it is, just isn't made for those kinds of shots. :(

I'm east coast and I don't want to get up that early for a 5 minute partial show. :) I'll wait for the news to post pretty pictures :)

Well it did its thing about 7.30pm here. I had a perfect view from my studio window but the whole thing seemed a bit ..... unimpressive. I was waiting for bright oranges and glowing reds but all i saw was a dull orange shadow.

Its now 11pm here and i just checked DA before going to bed and there are some beautiful photos being posted so maybe i was just in the wrong location for the impressive stuff.

Did anyone here manage to get some good photos?

Bah - I woke up at 3:15 am...due to natural causes...and decided to go outside and see the thing. Talk about unimpressive...I was totally disappointed. Not only was the moon tiny at that time of night, but the effect of the eclipse was really ho hum.

However, on the drive into work this morning the moon was a lot lower in the sky, and HUGE!!! It was back lit in blues, and purples, from the rising sun, and really...that's what I wish I could have gotten a picture of.

I've seen a lot of eclipses in my life...I guess perhaps I'm jaded :P

I was up but didn't bother, I did however see it on the news this morning. Meh. This is the second one this year, maybe the thrill is gone.
