Alien vs Predator - Requiem

I actually went to the theater for the first one which fucking sucked cock but being a scifi nerd I could not resist it due to all the speculation over the years about who would win.

Personally, my money is still on a Predator. Acid for blood just don't compare to all those fun gadgets - WHICH, by the way, as the movies progressed, the acidity of the alien blood seemed to get weaker and weaker. I hate when they change things.

I remember back in the day reading the comic book / graphic novel about this. I really liked it even if I can't stomach the Predator movies (too scary for me) I did see the AVP movie and I liked it. But I seem to like a lot of cheesy movies :S

I'll have to see this one just because. I was so hyped for AVP, and then so disappointed by the total lack of anything resembling a plot. But the effects were cool!

This one looks a bit more gorey than I remember AVP being....

Ok will have to go see this. Definately looks better than the first one and I kinda liked that one. I think just because of the whole hidden city thing hehe

I'm kinda surprised the Predator bothered killing the blonde girl.

1:19 in the trailer. It's a bit blurry, but it looks to be a blonde girl in a skirt and a jacket. One of the Predator's blades comes whirling from off screen and nails her to the wall a few feet off the ground.

Saw another commercial for this - looks like it picks up right where the first one left off on the Predator ship leaving the antarctic. :thumbsup

Haven't seen it yet, really want to this week sometime, but the reviews are lacking. Apparently the sequel redeems itself from Paul Anderson's atrocity but other than the gory effects, it's not that great of a movie. I personally still want to see it, if only for the gore. =(

a friend of mine tried to talk me into seeing this christmas day... with 2yo in tow. Told him only if he planned on getting up to deal with the nightmares AND planned on paying for 10 years of therapy... *men*!!!

If you go into it expecting to see a great plot with many amazing twists you will be let down. Now if you go into it expecting to see a mindless action movie you will enjoy it.

It was better than the first one and you get a brief glimpse of what i am assuming is the predators home planet.

Wasn't nearly as gory as I hoped it would be and what violence there happened to be, it was like they really tried to go over the top. For example the kid getting face hugged in the beginning and the maternity ward of pregnant women who were impregnated by the hybrid and all gave birth to multiple aliens.

Meh.

The blonde chick looked like a 20 year old Naomi Watts though - could have been her younger sister or clone for pete's sakes. The unknown characters were blah. Mike and I moaned over how much of Predator, Predator 2, Alien, Aliens, Alien 4 they put in.

Dallas, the name of the Captain in Alien.

The military girl O'Brien and her daughter - Aliens (in the directors cut of Aliens you find out that Ripley had left behind her 9 year old daughter and she had just died like 2 years before Ripley was found by the deep space salvage team.

The hybrid alien/predator - Alien 4.

Alien/Predator fans will be disappointed, except for the glimpse of the Predator home planet, but overall I'd give it a 3 out of 10. I'm glad we didn't pay to see it, that's for sure. =x :arg

Figured it would chug. Ill wait till its on tv :)P
