yeah, be kinda think if you think its 100% 3d. All it looks like is photomanips to me, maybe some 3d here and there when he dont have a picture to go from maybe heh

"Its not just 3D - as I've said in my other posts. It starts as a 3D render but is finished with photoshop. As for it being fake - Im a published artist, do you really think I would my work would be published it was fakes?"

From him:

Your comment regarding Picture perfect has me puzzled. First of all - the entire image stared from a 3d model based on the photo. The entire figure is modeled in 3d to start. Second your statement saying "that others are clearly manipulated photos" Are you talking about other artists or claiming that MY images are photomanips? If so, let my clarify for you - NONE of my images are photomanips. They all start off from 3d models. All of my work is a combo of 3d, 2d and photo.
Hope that clears it up for you.

That guy is so full of shit. Maybe somewhere under his pictures is a 3d model but it's hidden under a few layers of pictures he ripped off.
Elfykins 18 years ago
I agree..there isn't any way he is going to get all that hair to match exactly every lil kink n curve n twist.....and a few other things in the pic too...every lil crease on the lips.. to a "made" 3d model... is there...I don't think so

We should mass request tutorials!

Step 1. Find a porn site.

Step 2. Save picture.

Step 3. Load Photoshop and apply fliters.

Step 4. Post on DA and get kudos.

Step 5. Feel smug.

All these pregnancy hormones got me all kinds of bitchy :P But really anyone passing photos for 3d makes people who try hard to incorporate realistic elements into their art look bad. You see some one who worked really hard on something and hold it up to a rip off like that and for some one that really believes that shit is 3d can feel a little let down. I know I would have felt that way a year ago. It's hard enough when some people think 3d is a cut and paste process then you see shit like this...

He literally says that it ISN'T all 3d, and still he claims it is :S

wireframs, actual 3d vs. photo manip aside.... does he have permission from the photographer and model to so blattently rip off their work. I mean there is very little that that makes that image his own. Even as a manip it looks like he slapped some filters on and put a border around it.
Lunna 18 years ago
aditionally... have you seen his actual portfolio website? It's very clear which images have poser models and which don't.

thought you may be interested in this...friend on DA sent me a note this morning...he's made a comparison....

Oh and I was wondering the same thing...surely the phtographer and models have copyrights or something on those pics...so how the hell does he get away with it?
Laschae 18 years ago
The internet is a big fuckin place and I doubt very much photographers have alot of time to track down people ripping off their work. I read all those posts and I don't know how some one can lie like that. I mean when some one calls you out on something admit it ffs.
Lunna 18 years ago
It's human nature to avoid admitting to a lie (or crime or whatever). As far as photgraphers and artists policing their own work, there are alot out there who take it very seriously. There are law suits all the time for something as simple as reposting photos (paintings, songs you name it) without permission to direct rip offs (like this guys work). Will anything ever happen to this guy? Who knows. However, he's very proud of having his work published and that is for profit, so if he continues down this path there is a very good chance he'll be called on it by some one more with a larger axe to swing than folks on DA. Further more on the DA side of things, wasn't there a really well known digital artist run out of town for having partial manips or paint overs in her work reciently? So those of you who feel pasionately about this guy do have some wieght to throw around. :)

Just an observation...after looking at his online portfolio site...I noitced, that although the 2 "renders" in question would be by far his most stunning and realistic works of ANY of them he claims. to have done...those 2 aren't on his portfolio site...hmmm....wonder why...hee hee
the ones he does have on his portfolio site however I think are awesome...and you can tell they are 3d..dunno why it's such a freakin big deal to admit the other 2 aren't, hell even if they are photomanips, they are still good...pfft

I am very curious to see how this plays out. It's so frustrating to those of us trying to learn this stuff to see people cheat so outrageously :(
