Just an observation...after looking at his online portfolio site [link] noticed, that although the 2 "renders" in question would be by far his most stunning and realistic works of ANY of the works he has done...those 2 aren't on his portfolio site...hmmm....
The ones he does have on his portfolio site however I think are awesome...and you can tell they are 3d..dunno why it's such a freakin big deal to admit the other 2 aren't, hell even if they are photomanips, they are still really good...pfft
And this is to Bruce...we are not saying you aren't talented man...you are amazingly talented...if my 3d work ever looked half as good as your 3d work, I would be in heaven...I just have issues with those 2...the rest of your work is stunning.
And as for accusing me and several other people of trying to garner pageviews...I could care less if I have any pageviews, I put my work up here because I am proud of what I do...and because I love what I do...if other see it, ok..if not, then I can come and look at it and enjoy it..no biggie..and if you look at my pageviews...lmao...I have been on here for about a year and still have very few..I aint lookin to garner pageviews...I am here for love of art...plain and simple..

I agree with you. Before starting this thread I reviewed his online portfolio and it seemed to me very strange that none of his most realistic "renders" have been uploaded to his own web. It is very strange.

As mentioned prior - its not strange - it's called time management. I had to do 50 images for my new book - updating my website fell by the wayside. Since you seem so concerned I'll let you know when I update it. :lol

Thanks for the compliments. I actually didn't accuse you of trying to garner pageviews - I didn't even think of that ...lol.
That said, I must admit Im negligent of updating my website - which will be done shortly. I've had to do a massive output of work for my aforementioned second book.
Again, I've never said I don't do combo work of 3D, 2D and photomanip - Im not trying to hide it. Furthermore, if I did do nothing but photomanips I would admit that too. I love photomanips! However what is getting my panties in a bind is Eros accusation of my just doing photomanips. Which again, I assure you is not how I do things. I've said this many times before and for the record here it is: I start of the design with a pencil sketch for comp, light source. I use poser figs and sometimes do my own objects in maya (though this is rare since my knowledge of may is rudimentary at best). Ill design everthing in Vue including rendering. Ill finish it off in photoshop. Which includes photmanipping hair and (sometimes) clothing. I rework the figures, repaint them etc. Lastly (if needed) ill do some postwork in mayapaint, or particle illusions.
Now, if Im being so completely honest in my approach - why would I have to lie about anything? As I've said many times, people can like my work for what it is or not. But at the very least give my my credit for doing what is I do accurately.
For picture perfect: hair, bottom face and bra - photo - the rest is 3D and 2d.
For guns and roses - hair is manip - the rest is 3D and 2D.
I should think that clears up things yes?

yes, but I think you should really note this on the pictures in question...
If you are using anyone elses work as a part of yours, you should give credit...otherwise it leads people to believe that the "whole" work is purely yours...which isn't right ethically

from what he says...these images that people have been questioning him about..and which he admits are partially made from the original photos....they are supposed to be publushed in his upcoming book...how the hell does he get away with that? Wouldn't he have to get approval from the person that owns the rights to the photos to use them in a money making venture like that?

Maybe he will get sued *hopes*. Yes I'm mean.

I bet all it would take is bringing it to the publisher's attention to get that nipped right in the bud.

This is the publisher for his previously releaced work. Alot of the images I've seen from this one look very 3d for the most part.

haha~! Yeah the ones in his first book look 3d with postwork. But what hes doing is filing these images strictly under "3D" area on DA..when clearly they are not.
It really pisses me off .. here are people trying their best to achieve realism in 3D aps without all the post work and photcroping.. yet he gets all the glory because the way he's got them filed, people are darft enough to think they are 3d .... when in fact since they have been altered out of 3d app into a 2d app like photoshop then they are concidered "mixed media" .. I know it's been said before higher up but fuck you.. I feel like ranting OK?! *eyes people*

Rant all you want, dear... /backs away slowly

I'm with ya Adi, and I don't do 3d. His attitude when someone finally really called him on it is what annoys me most. The "Im published, I couldn't possibley be fibbing about my artwork" is the most ludicrous defence I've ever heard. And accusing ppl of being jealous of his UBAR 3d skills is rediculous too. His skills are using a fucking clone tool in photoshop. Anyone with the patience to learn the software and half a brain can do that. Furthermore there absolutely ZERO credit to the original artists who's photos he's ripping off, nor would there ever have been because his images are "3d" right?

I think it would be great if these comparisons got a DD hehe ><

Not sure the poster of that would appreciate any "official" notice since technically while Colero is obviously screwing up, the one who's bashing him so publicly would likely get banned at least temporarily. Not saying I agree with it, but I just have a feeling that would be a mod/director's prerogative to do just that.
FyreGarnett 18 years ago
those comparisons are pretty scary... especially colero's defense of them. on one of them, the photo/original version has some stretchmarks/scarring on her arm... and oddly enough, so does the 3d render version.... that alone kills it for me!

imo - he just needs to be honest and give appropriate credit. this would all just go away if he would be a man and do so....
Elfykins 18 years ago
AHA!! He took one of the pictures in question totalaly off his DA page...I received a note from him when I sent him a note asking about it...he did NOT have permission to use it...and I guess someone contacted Jelena Jensens management company about it or something, because they told him he had to take it down...because it was a manipulation of one of her copyrighted photos...and he obviouisly did not have permission to use it.....he still has the guns n roses n bubble one up...I bet they go down shortly too...
