Ha! I didn't even see this here =)
One of my friends was threatening to have a singing telegram sent to me at work in front of potentially a few hundred people (my office is around the corner from the hospital cafeteria). Luckily for me, after reminding me for two weeks beforehand that she was such a good friend for remembering... she actually forgot and didn't even call me on my birthday. We were talking the day after and it suddenly hit her. I found that much more entertaining than a singing telegram (although I did tell her she could be my dancing telegram if she wanted).
Someone else who was planning on embarrassing me ended up having to stay home sick. I ended up getting cornered a day late and having cake forced upon me.
