Fudge or no Fudge

My daughter's having a Halloween Birthday party this year, and I went shopping for it at the CHOCOLATE SHOP yesterday... torture, I tell you. Anyway, I found some chocolate eyeballs and a great big huge Jelly Belly rat :D Since we're having boys there as well I think that those will be perfect prizes for the games they'll be playing!

There's this big sign in the front window of the shop... "Fudge Sale" *sigh*

Fudge is only orgasmic if it's made properly... it's got to have a smooth, sinful texture that just clings to your tastebuds in near-erotic decadence. It needs to be rich regardless of type made, and for the sake of all... no nuts! they just spoil the experience.

I shall not be making fudge until just before Christmas, and maybe not at all this year since my only friends in England have a son who is allergic to treenuts.

Wow... I should add that it makes no sense that I'm anti-nut for my fudge, yet won't make it due to tree nut allergies in our friend's kid. See... if I make peanutbutter fudge, that's right out. Anaphylactic ickiness. However my other recipes require use of chocolate, which is often prepared in factories that handle nut products as well. So either way, I'm doomed unless I want to make fudge and just not give them any. I guess I could make them something else, but it just still seems awkward.
