Sci-fi scene - CC requested

This is a piece I'm working on that hasn't turned out quite as I envisioned. I could use a fresh set of eyes and some constructive criticism if anyone has the time or inclination.

My original thought was something reminiscent of the scenes in Starship Troopers where there's a big swarm of icky monsters attacking, but the end result just doesn't seem right. Any feedback at all would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I think it looks great so far, will you be adding laser gun effects to the weapon?

You could possibly put some spaceships flying overhead, or bodies of dead bugs to show shes killed some, or even just bug parts hehe.

I think , to me, it looks a little washed out, but it really could just be my monitor.

Totally wicked hon! I agree with all that Lessa said, and I have one more nit to pick ;) Is the moon part of the render from Vue? I don't know if it is and that's just how it did it, or if you post worked that, but it bugs me when you see a moon like that, but then see the clouds behind it. It's still a solid circle, so you wouldn't see thru it. Just a personal peeve of mine, so pay no mind unless ya wanna ;) I think the whole scene is just awesome!

Can I just say, tongue in cheek of course, that she doesnt need that gun??? She has the most violent set of nipples eva LOL I'm sure she could kill them all with a b00bie taunt, np.

Thanks for the feedback! I knew I came to the right place.

I would like to add laser gun effects in post, but sadly I'm terrible at that kind of thing. Can anyone give any tips on how to do that, or point to a site with some beginner tutorials or something? I seriously suck at adding effects in post.

I'll definitely add a space fighter or two flying overhead, that's a great idea. And I'll see if I can squeeze some dead critters in too.

The moon was added in Vue, and of course it's behind the clouds, not in front of them. ;)

As for the nipples... I've never actually heard of nipples being used as a weapon before. Although I did once read about a guy who sued a strip club claiming damages from being hurt when a dancer whapped him in the face with her boobs. Of course, if nipples were weapons, then it would be ok to show them in PG movies, wouldn't it? But that's another conversation altogether. ;) In any case, point taken, I'll see about toning them down a bit.

Thanks again for the feedback, please keep it coming!

nooooo! leave the hawt bewbies alone! As for the laser beam effect.. hmm i would usually have rendered with a couple lights in the color intened for the beam and point them around softly tp get the "flash" in the right spots on the gun and victim. The beam itself can be done pretty simply or complex depends on whatcha want. Here's a couple tutes I've found :

Well, here's what I came up with. I added some spaceships and a laser gun effect, and made it less washed-out. I softened the nipples a bit, though hopefully they've retained a degree of hawtness. I tried adding some dead critters, but I felt like it was really getting too busy -- it's already pretty busy, and I didn't want to get rid of any of the live ones.

I think this definitely looks way better than what I originally had! Thank you all for the feedback and advice, it is definitely much appreciated! :)
