Random question

ya know - I'm not sure but i guess i always assumed they would (or at least they would once they reported their condition!)

I googled and found a really interesting pdf file with comments from other police officer admin types and it was pretty interesting. Some don't view pregnancy as a disability - therefore you can't give them light duty. Some don't have light duty jobs but it seems that most of the time they get benched into doing dispatch or being loaned out to City Hall since technically they are city employees.

Where I work, if you get pregnant you arent allowed to work on the shop floor (I work in a wholesalers) so they find a nice lil office thnig for you to do...

I'll ask my mom what the policy is at work. She works for the Sheriff's office back home.

When I was pregnant with my oldest, I had a job working at a local discount store. I was only on part time since I was in high school, but usually got about 12-16 hours a week,. After my manager found out I was pregnant he knocked me down to 2-4 hours a week because he was afraid I would get hurt on the job and ask for disability. He also disallowed me from doing just about anything but labeling items or working the register.. of course that may have been due to my to-be hubby going down there and yelling at him for putting me on truck duty...

No chance we'd get put on the checkouts in my place, its one of the most physical jobs in the palce cos you are shifting cases of beer and other heavy stuff from one trolley to another. I really dont know what they'd put us on really, the only lass who is pregnant works in the cash office anyway
