starting to think we need a bitch forum - i got a infraction for grammar

So, as originally quoted below, you can see that i was trying to help someone on this board, and i got a fucking infraction for it.

i wont be going here anymore. i can not capitalize my text as much as i fucking want. the fact that this guy actually TOOK THE TIME to type out the reason for such infraction just makes me want to choke him with his fucking panties.

faggots.

Dear vexi,

You have received an infraction at Elitist Jerks.

Reason: Grammar
-------
What is it about the beginning of a sentence that people hate so much that they'd ignore the most basic rule of capitalization?
-------

This infraction is worth 1 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

he's got a folder called Tooltips in his ui download, this goes inside interface folder next to the addons one.

Interface
-- Addons
---- other mods
-- Tooltips

it auto replaces any tooltip border used.

i also found a zork border in SharedMedia, but i had to replace that one with the one in his download cause it had some transparency to it.
All the best,

at one of the boards I frequent, someone went off about how not using caps was a sign of being a submissive and that the person who had posted the original post needed to get a grip... etc... etc... and a backbone and stand up for themselves... wtf????

i don't use caps becuase I'm too lazy to bother on something as informal as a forum. in word, the damn thing caps things for me automatcially, so while typing my damn term papers, it does it for me - which simply adds to my inherent laziness....

(and do you know just how much self-control it took to NOT correct some of the grammer & spelling in this thread - which under normal circumstancesi would ignore/pass over - simply becuase of the topic??? not pretty, lemme tell you!!! LOL)

crap - used caps in the wrong places. oh well. too lazy to fix...

Not capitalizing 'I', when referring to yourself, has long been believed to reflect a lower self esteem. It's what I've read, not what I believe.

wow, that's crazy! i thought it was a joke...can't believe they're actually pissing off people for not having time/ patience/ will to use caps...like not using caps would make a sentence non understandable...

I guess I am still using what High School typing class taught me. I like caps and cant really get a good feel for what I am saying without them. But I would NOT bitch about anyone not using them unless they are being spelling nazis to begin with!

Screw those frelling losers and don't frequent their site anymore. They so do not deserve to have anyone help them!

yeah i already deleted the bookmark there.

Grammar Nazi's - I hate 'em.

I had to have perfect English (well Queen's English) on every bit of correspondence and paperwork that crossed my desk when I worked for Justice. Of course, if I got made one spelling or grammatical error it could potentially be a major FUBAR that would explode in my face - especially in legal documents and orders.

Me not want to have to be perfect on Internet :D

I try to remember to capitalize and all that when I am on this board, but normally I slack terribly, and even trying to remember I know I prolly only get it half of the time ><

I also try to use proper spelling, but again, I type not so well, and sometimes hit enter before i actually read over what I wrote. Then I am too lazy or too busy to go back and edit :P

Sorry Roz :hide

On a side note, it is "an" infraction, not "a" infraction.

fuck you

actually, i had to typed properly first, i had just chose the wrong word ( wrote refraction, in which case 'a' would be correct ) but something about getting refractions for grammar didn't sound right, so i fixed it, forgetting about the A. so still, fuck you!

ya know - it is so tempting to count the spelling, grammatical and other errors in this thread alone - but i'm afraid someone would smack me!!!

I hope my post brought joy in someone's life.
Eve 18 years ago
On another side note... Nards, shouldn't that be "I hope my post brought joy -to- someone's life."? I'm not 100% positive there, but about 99% at least. ;)

lol... had someone correct my spelling in EQ2 guild chat the other day. I replied that I might not know how to spell said word but I sure could spell asshole! He shut up and the guild laughed.

My only real grammer pet peave is ppl who can't use "then" and "than" correctly.
ROzbeans 18 years ago
or 'your' and 'you're'. Oh. My. God. That annoys me.

Actually, no, both your version and my version are correct. While there is a use of two words, both are acceptable.
