Optimus Maximus keyboard available for preorder

i wonder if its keys get hot like my macbook's

might not be noticeable if they do. they said the new design has the keyscreens locked in place. there's a transparent keycap that goes over it, and that's the part that you press. i would love to shit $1,500+ on this thing, except i just can't justify it. nope, not even for the fun/geekwang/whatever factor. i wonder how much of the price is just the parts, and how much is the "patents pending, i'll charge out the ass because i can" mentality.

my macbook's keys have letter cutouts on the keys. you can see the key labels in the light, and in low light conditions they are 'backlit'.

they can get really hot if you leave your finger on a key for any longer than 3-4 seconds.

some of the letters on my keyboard have worn off. that would solve that.. if I were willing to spend that kind of money on a friggin keyboard lol.

Holy crap, the price just dropped like Serena and Venus Williams' balls. $462.27 still isn't cheap, but it's getting closer to reasonable.

That's actually kind of neat - though having to find a space on a power strip for something else is a bummer...
