Yeah I thought - well jesus h pickle, just when i was going to start writing the zombie stuff again. =( I will NEVER....NEVER eat quiznos or bologna EVER again. I puked like you would not believe. I mean...I can't even tell you how much I puked. The ER on base is quite familiar with me and my stomach contents now, let me tell you.

I came home on Monday night and got my lovely birthday gift from Verileah and managed to thank her before I realized that I wasn't going to be able to eat to get my blood sugar up which was dropping. I tried eating cereal and drank some milk but something was telling me to suck it up and just tell Mike to take me to the ER. I hate needles - I know, I'm diabetic but I STILL HATE THEM and I especially hate IV's. We get to the ER and I immediately start crying because I know they're going to give me an IV and plus I don't want Catherine seeing me all sick.

20 mins later, I'm puking up a lung in my room.

Mike dropped Catherine off at a co workers and came back to hold my hair oh and smack the living shit out of me to wake me up from the drug induced coma they put me in with the anti-puke drugs.

'Roz. ROZ?' SMACK.

'JESUS CHRIST MIKE.' Feeble smack back - snore.

Whatever they gave me, it stopped me from puking only by putting me to sleep. I only half remember what happened - I remembered the first IV attempt, then the second...not the third...I remember being stuck for the fourth and then nothing until 1am. The vomiting passed, but then stage two of food poisoning kicked - I'll just let you guess as to what THAT was for the next 12 hrs. =/

They ended up transferring me to OB because they wanted to monitor my blood sugars which were now completely out of whack. So, I spent Tuesday afternoon till this thursday afternoon eating really crappy bland food and watching an insane amount of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. I didn't sleep much at night but I slept pretty good during the day. The baby's fine - he was moving and shaking as always and the nurses were pretty nice. The vomiting and diarrhea stopped by Wednesday and today they let me escape.

I feel better but ugh, I will never eat lunch meat ever again - or cheese for that matter.

Cheese is gross.

There's this meathead who works at the gym I go to (well... the gym I'd like to be going back to as soon as I find the time to get my ribs fixed again) who supposedly got food poisoning at a local restaurant by biting into chicken that burst with fluids into his mouth. He claims he lost over 40 pounds and had 40ish IVs over 2 weeks. So. Gross.

Wow...just wow. What hell that must have been. That is just so awful, and to go through it pregnant...poor thing.

Again, so glad to hear your body has turned around, and you're back on the mend.

*hugs*

:( Welcome back. And here I was figuring you were just tired of us and playing Santa O_o. We're going to have to set you up with one of those things that mass emails everyone you know if you don't press a button on the internet every day.

Why is it that military doctors cannot competently put in an IV? Don't they have to be able to do this when things are asploding all around them, bullets whizzing overhead? 'Gee, one more time and I think we'll have it!' They've got half the population brainwashed into thinking their veins are just especially difficult *rolls eyes*.

Yuck. Sorry to hear that :( It must be about twice as terrible being pregnant and spewing out of both ends =\ I'm glad you're feeling better, get lots of rest!!

I find it ironic that I slept better in a hospital bed than I did my own bed. I got jack for sleep last night. =/

Was the hospital bed raised?

Yeah that hospital bed had lumbar support and I could sleep at a slight angle - so comfortable =(

HOLY COW!! That sucks! To feel that sick...to be worried about your blood sugar...to be worried about your little one all at the same time...what a brutal time that must have been for you!
