Dear Abby: They Pay Me Too Much
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ucda/20080304/lf_ucda/keepingtrackofpasswordsiswordtothewiseonline
DEAR ABBY: Most people complain about their jobs because they feel they don't make enough money. My problem is the opposite. I love my job, but I think I make too much money. My job is mostly simple work that could be done by anybody -- yet I earn almost as much as my husband, who is a supervisor in a technical field. My boss always gives me excellent reviews and doesn't seem concerned.
It's nice to have the kind of job that isn't stressful. But I feel guilty that a lot of people with more difficult jobs make less than I do. Should I tell my boss to give me a pay cut, or take the money and run? -- CUT OR RUN IN WISCONSIN
DEAR CUT OR RUN: I won't reveal your exact location because many people would kill to have your job. The answer to your question is you should neither ask for a pay cut nor take the money and run. Feeling as you do, you should donate every cent you feel you are overpaid to a charity (or to a therapist who can help you overcome your sense of guilt).
What the heck?
"They pay me too much. Waaaaaah." Seriously?
"My job is simple work that could be done by anyone."
Well, yeah, idiot, they pay YOU to do it so they don't have to.
And ya know, you probably do a good job of it.
I think Abby's second answer is the best - go to therapy.

I'd stab the wench in the eye if they said where she was, yep. What a dumb ass thing to complain about. And I like the first one of her suggestions. You want a paycut? Fine, donate to charity however much you think it should be. Then you'll feel better, and somene else benefits from your guilt ridden whiney stupid ass... *hmph*

Some people are never happy...no matter what...its just the way they live their lives. This woman sounds like a prime example.

That's it exactly Den. If someone doesn't have something to complain about, they'll INVENT something. I roll my eyes at this person!

I used to be in a job where I was paid 30k to do really simple stuff. I ended up web surfing most of the day and at first, I didn't care if I was overpaid. No complaints. After a while, it started to affect my morale and I started to feel that I didn't amount to much, that people had low expectations of me. It was kind of like boggling your head at Paris Hilton being paid thousands of dollars just to show up to a club for a few minutes. I did get a new job eventually due to relocation on my husband's part and I got paid less, but worked more and I felt better about myself.
Since she actually loved her job, take the money and run! I hated my job, which just compounded the problem. :p

I read this at work the otherday, and had to laugh. Abby's reply was spot on imo. If she feels guilty for making so much, then donate it to charity (or therapy). Also, if her husband is sane then I guess he's happy about the extra income.

She could always go try flipping burgers for a month. Some how I think she'd change her tune about her current job.
