Max Payne

Mark Wahlberg

USA Today released the first shot from the upcoming "Max Payne" adaptation, which stars Mark Wahlberg in the title role as DEA agent who teams with an assassin (Mila Kunis) to solve a string of murders.

Talking to the paper, Wahlberg conceded that he was not a "Payne" gamer but said that one of his assistants "plays it all the time, and I probably watched him play more than I should. It's got a story line more complex than most video-game movies."

Kunis added that it's daunting to try to please video-game fans. "I made the mistake of stumbling on an Internet site of fans and what they thought of the casting," she says. "I hope I don't cross them on the street before the movie. Maybe they'll change their minds when I'm in leather pants and bustier."

The new film is directed by John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines) and is scheduled to hit theaters on October 17th.

MAX PAYNE
Starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis
Directed by John Moore
Based on the Rockstar videogame series, this crime thriller from director Moore (Behind Enemy Lines) stars Wahlberg as the titular DEA agent, seeking revenge for the murder of his family. Wahlberg compares Payne to Dirty Harry, with one distinction. ''Payne doesn't mind raising his voice,'' he says. He doesn't seem to mind much else, either. This guy just will not stop,'' Moore says. ''It's not Medium Payne or Minimum Payne, it's Max Payne.'' (Hits theaters Oct. 17, 2008)
At Comic-Con: Moore and cast will screen a trailer and scenes.

hehe I cant picture mila kunis as an assasin.. shes so little and cute! I see either the girl from that 70s show or Meg hehe. Itll be interesting to see how she does.

I didnt care for the max payne games.. but maybe the movie will be good.. Mark in his usual roll as an officer of the law of some sort lol.
