2009 means the end of another era on NBC.

[INDENT]James Douglas Muir “Jay” Leno (born April 28, 1950) is an Emmy Award-winning American stand-up comedian and television host, who succeeded Johnny Carson as host of The Tonight Show in 1992. Leno will continue to host The Tonight Show until May 29, 2009. Late Night host Conan O’Brien is his scheduled replacement as host.

[/INDENT]May 29th is my anniversary, not that anyone cares but I thought I’d throw that out there =D Anyway - It was a legendary broohaha when NBC opted to go with Leno rather than Letterman which prompted the latter’s departure from the network and crossed over to CBS to directly compete with the long lived night time show.

Letterman goes out on his own terms on CNN.com talks about how Leno has GOT to be pissed about NBC’s decision to replace him with O’Brien next spring.

[INDENT] “Unless I’m misunderstanding something, I don’t know why, after the job Jay has done for them, why they would relinquish that,” Letterman said, adding, “I have to believe he was not happy about it.”

[/INDENT]I hate Jimmy Fallon, by the way. He’s set to take over Conan’s show…yadda yadda yadda, that’ll suck. Kind of hard to believe that Leno has been doing the Today show for almost 20 years already. Maybe I’m just old =x
