You gotta be kidding me. They better not botch this if its true.

Im not an avid reader by any stretch of the imagination - However, I read all of those Robert Jordan books (Wheel of Time series) and loved them.

Only novels ive read in my entire life are books by Jordan and RA Salvatore.

PS. I wonder whos gonna play Rand al'Thor? =x

Were they good books? I'm just starting to read fantasy books and my friend suggesting I try the Sword of Truth series...it's awesome and they are turning it into a mini-series or tv show or somethign that will likely piss me off and I won't watch...anywho! I hope that whoever is doing this doesn't screw it up but I dont see how since Hollywood almost always screws up movies made from books.

Yes, The Wheel of Time series is excellent, so is the Sword of Truth one for that matter. I just think trying to make a movie out of even one of the books would be a duanting task, at best. I don't see how you could do it in a 2 to 3 hour timeframe without cutting out a crapload of stuff. Plus, the whole "one power" thing, with all its weavings of different forces. It could make for interesting effects. On the other hand, only people who can use the power can actually see it, so do you show the actual effects or just the result (kinda like with the force in Star Wars)?
Not to mention...there is no true ending at that point, the book series is being completed as we speak and will be book #12. They going to do a movie for every book?
