new WoW Sig

Whoa that's a nice screenshot. Is your toon on a separate layer or was that one screenshot? The colors look amazing, very nicely done. I'm not familiar with the type of toon it was so it was hard to see it at first. Undead right?

The size of the sig is larger than what most boards would like. If you squish it down and either move the toon to the left or right, it'll make for easier font placement. Go crazy with the fonts, try different types and try to keep the colors from fading into the background. Looks like you used a gradient which makes it harder to read.

Over all that's damn good for a first timer sig. Photoshop is difficult as hell and there are 100+ ways to do everything, making it even harder. And dont ever feel like you dont compare to other members here, you goober. Opening up photoshop and attempting anything says a helluva lot. We're all here to learn too =)

ok cuttin it down a little bit and reworking it now. my toon and bg are all one layer, i got the SS from the top of a tower in the xroads. plus i really hate cutting anything out of a SS... just takes so much damn time.

ya my guy is undead, he's and engineer too so thats why hes got the goggles on =) soon hell wade into battle with exploding sheep and battle chickens to do his reckoning!

Reworked it quite a bit, i used outer glow on the text to make it more pronounced on the hut, then liked it so much i decided to use it on the other texts to help bring them out. tell me what ya think!!

looks much better than v1.

i'd experiment with your name though, make it stand out quite a bit more

here's some more tweaking on the texts, i increased the spread on the glow and lowered its size by a few pixels on my name to get that extra glow to make it stand out a lil more. only difference with the 2nd sig is the font of the name.





so far im still liking the gothic font for my name, but im open.. keep the comments comin!

I know Mae uses a lot of the tuts from http://thewebmachine.com/. Maybe give some of those a try.

i've tried a few tuts from there and boy is PS retarded in how it does things... im gonna try the flaming text now, but with blusish flames coming off my name.. i hope it looks good!

HAHA that's awesome! Some c/c on text placement though: try centering your name and centering your additional text underneath more horizontally, not vertically. It'll give the sig balance =) Very nice flames though, kick ass! :thumbsup

I'm impressed by the blue flame effect. Much better than the preset blue/white/orange gradient overlay.

thx nektar, its actually pretty simple to do.. just dont try doing it on your sig, start a new image and do the text there, then just drag the layers from 1 image to the other. and believe me i have like 0 talent, so anyone can do it if i can. =)

I really need to sit down one day and practice the webmachine tutorials to death. What I do at school is still too technical :sad:
