If Al Gore invented it, Barack Obama pwnz it.

Let’s ignore the fact that my political inclinations are about as transparent as the 3 inch plate glass that protected the President-Elect and Vice President-Elect’s families on Election night and lemme comment on the one thing that probably got Obama elected.

His internet presence was phenomenal. He appealed to the one demographic (outside the black vote) that are ready to make a difference by being as vocal and obnoxious as possible. That’s right, us. The bloggers, the internet geeks, the ‘glued to our computers at least 8+ hours a day’ people. Not only was I getting text messages to volunteer and reminders to vote almost every day toward the end, but even I saw how incredibly smart it was. The overwhelming ability to touch internet geeks such as ourselves was the smartest thing Obama could have done. Within 24 hrs of winning the historical election, http://change.gov/ was erected (giggle) as an actual blog from the White House.

O_o

I remember Bob Dole trying to appeal the younger voters and rattled off his website URL incorrectly during the 1996 primaries that was eventually won by democrat Bill Clinton. McCain had the media and Sarah Palin, Obama had myspace, facebook, SNL (in reverse psychology), and hundreds of other sites spreading the word. Both candidates preached the word - VOTE - like a biblical message from God himself, but Obama used it with savvy that no other presidential candidate has been able to do until this election year.

http://change.gov/ is an up to date web blog letting the American people know what’s going on with every step of his presidency - from a countdown to the Inauguration to press conferences, to - I’m sure - the pick of the Presidential pooch.

Whether you voted for him or not, you gotta admit, it’s smart. Bypass all the bullshit slanted reportings and go directly to the source. Whodda thunk? Cnn.com reports that it wouldn’t even be a surprise if Obama starts Youtubing videos to spread his message. There is also the report that the honeymoon phase will last, at best, 2 years for Obama and the inevitable ‘worse before it gets better’ will outlast his presidency and cost him reelection.

I don’t know, I just want to know where to set up the camera because this shit is just too interesting not to watch.

You know the November 5th Wall Street Journal with Obama on the front was still selling out TWO days after it was printed? Some dude requested 10k copies of some magazine (I forget which) for 'investment reasons'. There's shit on ebay selling for thousands that you could buy a couple bucks before he won.

He's a marketing company's dream.

we still have newspapers from kennedy's assassination.. but so many were printed back then that theyre not worth shit now.

well yeah. i read someone went out to buy a newspaper just cause obama was elected.

hehe ditto..

Tho the value thing is a good idea.. its a cheap way to make alot of money.. but itll only work while the whole thing is new.. and til all the stupid people realize theyre spending way the hell too much for what theyre getting.. and there are way more out there than people are gonna end up buying because they actually want to have one (rather than having them to resell for profit) ..its like.. when tickle me elmo came out and people payed thousands to get for their kids for christmas.. then after christmas its 30 bucks and all the stores are overstocked..
