I didn’t really process what Weaver was saying at the time I suppose but it sounds to me like we might be less looking at “Alien 5´´ and more of “Chronicles of Ripley.”

I'm fighting a losing battle against myself over not-watching that trailer again. "It's just a trailer" I say. Then I cook up some scheme to trick myself into coming back to this post so I really have no excuse to not watch it aga.... shit.

DUDE I KNOW! So fucking excited about it. My father and I are die hard Alien franchise fans and after I saw this, I emailed it to him, called him, demand he turn on his computer and watch it, then call me back. We squeed about it for about 20 mins lol. My parents and my brother's family are coming this July - my dad, brother, and I are going to see it together. I AM ABOUT TO LOSE MY SHIT!

You can see the whole thing on YouTube already, but I'm waiting. For one thing... well I guess there only is one thing. It sucks to have to watch it in 28 segments and deal with all the buffering and ads and stuff.

I pre-ordered the DVD from Amazon already. It had a bunch of customer reviews from people who have already seen the movie, and they weren't very good... but most people were complaining about things like "character development", and really, WHO CARES ITS GOT SPACESHIPS AND ALIENS AND EXPLOSIONS AND STUFF@! "Character development"... sheesh. I dunno if I can wait for the DVD; I might actually go to the theater to see this one.

You won't believe how beautiful this movie is - how fluid the creatures are and how not once I thought, 'oh that's fake'. In fact, I was like, 'WTF IS THAT?' 100% of the time. Slow to build, for sure, like Alien, but not the wild ride James Cameron's 'Aliens' ended up being. In the end, this will rank 3rd: Aliens, Alien, Prometheus, Alien3, Alien Resurrection - in the franchise. Nothing...NOTHING beats Aliens.

Dude, as much as I really wanted to like this movie, it was just so bad in some parts that it made me laugh. I was really disappointed and just generally a sad panda.

It didn't bother me at all that it was slow in the beginning - it's just that it made up for it by being completely ridiculous from the time they went back to the ship until the credits rolled.

I agree, it was a disappointment script/story wise. You have to admit it was god damn beautiful though.
