Looks like one of those photos you get at a family event where everyone closes their eyes. Wolverine would be all bitchin' "omg you tards, you all blinked? Take it again!"

Huh what? I can't stop looking at Ryan Reynolds. God I want to have so much sex with that man that it breaks him in half.

O_o

Ryan Renolds? I'd rather break Hugh Jackman in half!

Oh he's next in line, believe me. :teehee

I'm just not diggin' their choice for Gambit :(
ROzbeans 17 years ago
They should have flipped the deadpool/gambit characters.

Ryan's look definitely works better for Gambit than the other guy, but I think his acting strengths play off pretty well with Deadpool's personality. That and he apparently has been interested in Deadpool for years now. I hope this movie doesn't spawn a new cardthrowing fanboy trend.

*ahem* Lemme just resurrect this topic. Saw Wolvie just a few hours ago... very very cool. I'm not a big fan of his (Gambit makes me weak in the knees though) but this was a good film. There are of course some cheesy moments but this is based on a comic book, it's not the next greatest piece of cinema ever written. That being said it flows nicely. You could see this and then watch the original X-Men and short of wondering why Sabertooth looks different, I think it would make perfect sense.

Some cool moments, some awesome action sequences, some very signature actions / lines by characters and all in all I liked it. And I have been an X fan for umm.. good lord over 25 years! It needed more Remy/Gambit screentime but for the plot it worked.

Ryan made an awesome Deadpool (very nifty reason given for his name), he nailed the wise cracking dialogue, and I know they cast Gambit so young to be in line with how young they made Rogue in the movies... that being said I think he pulled it off. The accent could have been a little more consistent, and he should have had red eyes not blue damn it.. but all around casting was good.

I'll be seeing it again once I figure out who has the second "easter egg" ending. Yes... there are two, and theatres are mixed up as to who has which one. Damn clever of them!

Oh, you've gotta be shitting me. When I was collecting comics, I hated, hated, hated variant covers! Now they're doing variant endings in the theaters?

That settles it. I'm going to watch this for free. Gimmicks make me mad.

I haven;t seen the "leaked" version but I did hear it has a different ending than the released film.. don't know how or what just wanted to throw that out there.

And honestly I don;t care about having to see it more than once.. I was going to anyways!

I just saw it, and I was pretty pleased.. except for the Gambit accent thing..

Makes me want to see the Origins for all of the other characters now.. who's next? *bounces*

ooh! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499519/

Well I had originally heard a while back that the idea was Wolvie and Magneto for these.. I'd also like to see one for Xavier. They have to explain how he ends up in a wheelchair among other things. But I'm not sure who else has an exciting enough back story... Storm's would be good too

I'd love to see Prof X's story, but I don't think I could handle Hallie Berry's fucked up african accent. =x It would be 'Catwoman' all over again.

Clue has 3 different endings - I think that's kinda cool, but yeah I'll wait for the DVD so I can see both endings.

A friend and I actually were discussing multiple endings to movies. Clue's multiple endings make sense for more than just a marketing gimmick. It's Clue.

Rogue's origin would be interesting, except they pretty much did away with it the way they've handled the character - no Ms. Marvel, no Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, no ties to Mystique and Nightcrawler. They could plausibly do the young pickpocket/tribal goddess thing with Storm, but Halle Berry just didn't seem to play Storm's popularity up very well. I don't see them spending much time on the character. I'd love to see a Gambit movie, except I just don't like Taylor Kitsch in that role.

Edit:
I just saw it. Hated how they handled Gambit. They downplayed his nonmutant dexterity (floating cards that shoot at his target without being thrown) and had him jumping all over the place as if he had Spider-Man's strength.
