The Beast - Patrick Swayze

Im not interested in it really hehe, and it confuses me how hes starting a series with as many health issues as hes had..

Yeah that confused me also. Doesnt he have cancer or some shit? and I think he was just hospitalized as well.

Anyway - The Pilot starts tonight.

I've seen the previews so many times while watching CSI the last couple weeks, I feel like I've already watched it. Not something I'm worried bout setting the DVR for, but who knows, may be worth a watch now and then.

He has pancreatic cancer, and was hospitalized for pneumonia.

I think his reason for working might be because its something he loves to do, he felt able when he took the job, and he feels its better than sitting at home waiting to die. The cancer he has is stage 4, and terminal.

I'm more surprised that the producers were willing to take a chance with him. I hope it pays off for them all.

But no, I won't be watching. CIS, Grey's Anatomy, and ER are my Thursday nights :P lol

They said all the ordered episodes are in the can, so really it's a question of whether it gets picked up or not. He also told People magazine (beside interview, wild) that when they tried to go easy on him with the stunts, he'd freak out and make them rewrite it since he's always done most of his stunts.

Character wise - Swayze kicks much ass. Whether I'll watch it...meh, probably not, but I'll be looking for reviews on it.

I agree. Pancreatic cancer is such an horrific disease. Michael Landon was diagnosed with it back in April 1991, and died three months later. He never quit fighting or doing what he loved till it was over, either. How can you not admire people like that?

My grandfather went in for hip replacement and two weeks later he was dead from pancreatic cancer. (The operation spread it all over.) My FIL died of this as well 10 months after he was told he had it.. It's amazing what money can do for ones health, eh? I only wish my 80 lb FIL could have done half as much towards the end.

So...did anyone watch this last night? I missed it.

They made a huge mistake IMO airing The Beast's pilot (first show) against Grissom's final episode of CSI Vegas on the same night (and same time?)

I agree, they shoulda aired it on a tues or wednesday and moved it up if they had a good enough following
