Do you prefer.........UPS or FedEx?

And why?

And would you trust either/or with something precious of yours that if it got broke, you would be super duper pissed off?

UPS. We've shipped several things that were super precious/fragile. They have a nice insurance policy as well. I've had Fedex leave more expensive things on door steps, ect, which has burned me to them.

FedEx is cheaper than UPS, but I've had problems with them all - UPS, FedEx and DHL.

LOL. .same here. . .we have actually dubbed UPS as the company to use when you "positivly, absolutly dont want it there overnight".
But. . I would use UPS before Fed Ex just out of sheer cost. I have never had anything broken by them.

Fed ex once shipped plane tickets I had ordered.. and requested signed receipt policy, on the doorstep of my grandfather's house.. three states away ( cause he had purchased the tickets on his card) *eyeroll*

He wasnt home.. he too was out of state.

FedEx is the one I've had the least issues with. I've had multiple smashed deliveries (boxes labelled FRAGILE or GLASS) from UPS, and even one instance where one box was missing and they told me it had been damaged in transit (yet failed to notify the sender, who didn't know to resend my order). One of the other smashed deliveries was soaked through because it had two cases of drinks and electronic equipment that was impaled on something, and they didn't even offer to handle reparations. DHL sent something to Energy, TX because they screwed up the ZIP code. When I called to have it fixed, they said it'd be taken care of... then proceeded to leave messages on my work phone when I wasn't there to inform me that no one was available to sign for my package at each delivery attempt. Um, I live in Killeen, not Energy. 76542, not 76452. I was one day away from them sending the package back to the sender.

So far I haven't had any issues with being the sender from any company (the US Postal Service even delivered a blood-soaked message for me without a hitch), but I tend to overpack. It's kind of a requirement for the contents to stay safe when I wrap gifts, so the over-the-top packing protection just carries over to stuff sent in the mail.

I've had bad luck with them both living out in the country. I bought a computer quite a few years ago and it had to be shipped out.....My neighbors called 4 houses away (over half a mile) asking if I was expecting a package! Good thing I had good neighbors! Oh and the package was to be signed for, they just dropped it off. This was from UPS...

Fedex pretty much just doesn't even knock on your door they just stuff a sticker "sorry we missed you, please sign" never actually checking to see if you are actually who they're looking for.
