Red Dawn???
Director John Milius's Red Dawn was one of the 1980s' most polarizing films, yet it has bucked the odds to endure as a cult favorite. While many critics gave a chilly reception to the Cold War drama's over-the-top patriotism and cheesy dialogue, a parallel legion of fans embraced its story of an isolated U.S. invaded by Communists, and the teens who mobilize to save the Red, White, and Blue. Whatever your feelings on the film, one thing is clear: Red Dawn launched some big stars of the 1980s and '90s, including Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, and Jennifer Grey. Will that history repeat? MGM is moving forward with a remake, scheduled to begin production in September, and EW.com can now reveal four more names joining the previously announced Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek), Josh Peck (The Wackness, Drake and Josh), and Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights). The boy, Connor I guess? hes 14, just saw an article about him earlier, he was also in 7 pounds as a young Will Smith.

I just found out that they are shooting part of this movie like a 5 min drive from my house, and right down the street from my cousin's house..
I guess at some point they blow up a house and its right down the street from my cousins. Drove by it and they have like the entire front part of a house setup with nothing else.. pretty goofy looking at it from the side.

I want no part in what will sadly be the butchering of one of the best films of all time. I hear its not even the Russians invading this time but the Chinese. If this is so they already are on the fail boat that is sinking faster than Darkblood did.

Red Dawn without Russians makes ZERO sense.
Isnt that why its called Red Dawn? Because of the Russian flag color being red and the whole "them taking over the USA" thing?

Red because the Russian civil war was fought between the Red Army (Bolsheviks / Communists) and the White Guard (basically anti-Communists). Red represents the blood of the people in the battle against capitalism, and white represents the old Russian monarchy, and... non-Red-ness.

Dr. Zhivago is one of the better ones as far as classics go, but yeah, not everyone likes translations of dense Russian literature.
