Runtime structure help ?
Hey,
I've come to the point in every poser addicts life - my runtime is disorganized, large and I need to get rid of stuff I probably will never use again. I am primarily a studio user.
So I am curious how would be the best way to organize. I've seen a screenshot of Eves and I'm impressed. What I mostly want to do is get an outfit in the same place as it's textures. Having to flip between figure and pose is a pain.
I'm thinking I'm going to have to do a complete reinstall. Just a little unsure how to do it in such a way that I won't end up with a mess again. On my mac I don't have a performance hit, but on my pc desktop the single large runtime isn't working so great.

You can't combine stuff from the character file into its corresponding pose/mat files.

I have the exact same problem lol. Though I think if I tidied it up I'd be lost, cos its more like organised chaos, I know where everything is but god help anyone who tried to use mine rofl

I have the mat files in a sub folder under my hair or outfit, that way its all in the same place
Its easy to do, just open up my poses folder, and have another opened to Hair or Clothing (which is in my figures folder) and then drag the pose to the main object folder and it puts them in the same one you just have to open separately inside Daz, but without having to move from folder to folder.

Daz's stuff is way looser than Poser, so Lessa's the one to listen to in that regard. She needs to get Poser soon tho, and get teaching me Daz while I teach her Poser LoL

I've gathered up way too much stuff, opening specific folders just, "Lag" badly sometimes. lol It's seriously time for a do over.
All my V4 chickys both free and paid are all under the heading "Body Morphs V4" and it's way too much now. I see a free chick that looks cute and grab it up and then slowly over time it fills up. lol

One way I did it was I wouldn't install something until I actually used it. It's a band aid fix, but it helps you not completely flood your folders.

I have problems finding things when I want to use them. I'm taking a week off from eq2 to focus on me, and one of the things i'm going to tackle this week is a complete rebuild of my daz runtime structure. The 30 second lag in Studio on my pc when I try to navigate folders is painful. I may do the step up to daz3.
*hugs* I'm sure I'll be back with plenty of questions while I'm working on it.

I'm trying to reorganize my stuff. Found this tutorial over at Daz and I think I have it figured out. http://www.daz3d.com/i/tutorial/tutorial?id=2231&_m=d Having 3 different versions of Poser on my computer makes me need to be more organized. My P7/5 runtimes look like some one set off a bomb in there ugh.
