Colored walls

Billie's post of her beautiful turquoise room reminded me I was going to post my newly painted bedroom to. This is the one I was painting when I broke my toes, and did something to my ribs, so I still have trim to paint. Gotta get up the courage to paint again first lol.

The color of this room is 'Sailboat'. I love blue bedrooms...they always seem like sanctuarys to me when they're blue.

And this is my bathroom, that I painted last year. This color is 'Cool Vista' :P First green room I've ever had, and I really like it. Only problem is I've only found one brand of towels that match in color, so I've had to buy six sets of the same ones.

Next year I'm going to tackle the kitchen. The hall, dining room, and kitchen were painted shortly after we moved in, since every room had wallpaper on it, and I had to remove it all...not pretty One day I'd like to change those walls too, from the pale beige they are now. One day...

Nice shower curtain - I think ours is similar. I'm fond of that shade of green, but yes, much easier to pick out shower curtain and linens first and then pick your paint color.

Blue really is a nice color for bedrooms. I'm considering experiments in painting just the ceiling of a room blue, to see if I like it.

I love that color in the bathroom, Ive wanted to paint my main hall and parlour that color since we moved in, but I doubt itll ever happen hehe. The house is old and under this wallpaper is cracked and crumbling plaster and with the 10-20 foot ceilings I doubt he will ever redrywall hehe. Im gonna be happy if we ever finish the kitchen and bathrooms, then ill work on him to get the floors and bedrooms done!

One other thing I forgot to mention about the color of my bedroom walls. In our last house they were more of a lavender blue, which I prefer more; however, in this room I had to find a color that matched the carpet, since it was brand new when we bought the house, and I'm not planning on changing it to hardwood for a few more years. It is a pretty vibrant color of blue, and no where near a shade of lavender But the while the walls were originally a shade of blue, next to this color they appeared white! I just have a thing about pale colored walls :P

Oh I love blue walls too! We did my son's bedroom a couple months ago in a blue shade called Gun Metal.
When we first moved in, his bedroom was covered in wallpaper with pink bows and a border that had white unicorns with purple and pink manes.
Anyway this is my sons's room in an awesome blue...

I also love that green color! I was thinking of going that color or similar in our bathroom but I'm limited to color choices. You see the counter is is this awful puke yellow from the 50's. I just don't know how well that would look with puke yellow counter. Guess I could go with an island like theme.. ya know, palm tree's and stuff... I dunno. We don't own the house, just renting, so don't wanna put too much work into it!

Nianya, we have the same problem with the 70s colors. Ugly pink, puke yellow, seafoam, avacaco. My kitchen counters are so ugly that I took one look at them and assumed Fozzik wouldn't want the house. Avacado faux marble with rusty orange veining.

The pink and seafoam I could work with in the bathrooms, but we tore out the puke yellow toilet and tiles :X. I think there's a countertop paint you can buy - one of our neighbors did that for her kitchen. A beach house sort of look might work. We did that for the pink bathroom. I did an arts and crafts look with chocolate towels and fabrics in the seafoam bathroom, but it's not finished yet.
