Nice! DSLR cameras are awesome! I got my Canon Rebel EOS XTi a couple years ago and LOVE it. I knew a few folks who had one, and they always took amazing pictures... so I convince hubby to let me spend some income tax return on it. LOL
Pisses me off, cause not long after I got my XTi, they started selling XSi! :-(

My hubby bought me a new camera! I am giddy with joy. I have wanted a DSLR for years and never been able to justify it. Today one of our online retailers had the Olympus E-620 on a clearance and even though we don't exactly have a spare 1k lying about that hasn't been earmarked for a gazillion other things, he said to buy it as a Xmas/birthday present. I am still spinning happily! Now I can take bird photos and sunsets and sports and more and not feel disappointed by the lack of my Kodak 4MP 6 year old camera.
Anyway, just had to share some of my joy!

I know what you mean, you just have to completely ignore advertising once you buy a big ticket item. When we bought our Kodak in 2003, it was 1200 AUD for it; 4megapixel. Six months later you could buy the same camera but 5mp for 800, now you can get it for about 200. Same for TVs. Our Panasonic plasma cost 2600, you can get the current comparable model for 2000. Breaks your heart if you think on it LOL
I figure you just have to jump in at some point and enjoy your purchase. Otherwise I would be stressing that I spent 3k on my first computer that was dumber that current wrist watches and spent $100/megabyte for 4 meg of RAM. Yes, meg not gig. Talking back in 1994/5 back when that earthquake in Kobe Japan caused the price of memory to skyrocket. Ahhhh memories! LOL

Gratz Tiff! After I got a look at the Canon Rebel my niece just got for her birthday, its stirred up all kinds of yearnings in me to get one. Unfortunately I can't justify it for at least another year :(
