Shader woes

I've been playing with ParrotDolphins shaders and for the most part I have them working. But I can't get the scales to look like they are meant to :( Like in Evey's pic http://designsbyeve.deviantart.com/art/Temple-of-the-Ice-Dragon-145254721 they face downwards and actually look like scales. When I use them they face sideways and render flat. What do I need to do to tweak them to look like they are meant to? I have the same issue with the chainmail ones.

Let's see some screenshots. No idea what you'd be doing to get those results :(

The sleeves material is supposed to be that fine scales pattern that everyone else seems to pull off so well lol

if theyre flat check to make sure your displacement is turned on in render settings.. why they put that there is beyond me, but I couldnt find it, had to bug Eve a bunch to figure it all out ><

Does it do that on anything you try it on, or just those sleeves? Looks to me like it could just be the orientation of the mapping on the sleeves. Give me a bit and I'll try too see if it does the same thing to me on that outfit.

Okay it -is- the sleeves and not anything you're doing wrong. First pic shows what you're getting, second is what you want, tho even that one seems like it would be upside down to me. LoL Last pic shows what you need to change in order to change something from vertically oriented to horizontally or vice versa. As for the poke thru, that's another problem all together dealing with having displacement on the scales underneath.

It did it on other outfits too, but I'll give that a shot and see if it works :) Thanks :)
