Website Banner
I was asked a while ago to make a website banner for an EQ guild. Anyway I checked today, and they finally put it up! :hooray
I had made a few variations, but that one is the one they prefered the most.

The request was pretty much open and I had artistic liberty. Since the guilds name is Sol Invictus (Roman Sun God).. I figured I'd stick with that theme. Sexy half dressed Roman God with his hot body pulled by horses in his throne-like chariot.... /swoon.

Well I like it, but I did have some c/c for it.
You have a lot of negative space and I think if you had scaled the man/horse/chariot bigger, it would have really given the banner some umphf! Give him a snarling face and steam coming out of the horses nose and it would have made it like super 'strong like bull'. Just a thought =)

Yeah, I didn't like the open space in it myself. My original draft picture I made, the mountains were much larger and buildings were bigger and he was more in the center. They didn't like it that much, and wanted more sky showing, smaller mountains, and the guy smaller and moved to the side. They wanted the sun to be shown and not cut off. It was a difficult commission. Hard trying to please several officers and class leaders of the guild who all had their own opinions on what they wanted so I tried to incorporate everyone's wishes. When I showed them this version, I guess they all agreed on it. LOL

thats why I dont care so much for banners, I charge the same for them as I do for more complicated scenes, just because yorue usually pleasing more than one person and its a pita.
