x_x oi, trying to pick just five and then putting them in order..

1. Call me a fangirl, I don't care. Jensen Ackles. Loved him since Days of our Lives. He was the first one that came to mind when I read the topic.
2. Johnny Depp. Who doesn't love Johnny Depp? Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hallow, even Once Upon a Time in Mexico. lol Even if he is uber famous now (like he wasn't before), he still brings such incredible vision to his characters.
3. John Cusack. A goofy guy that has incredible acting chops, whether it be in dramas, comedys or even the dreaded romantic comedy! lol
4. Christian Bale. He is quite adapt at transforming himself into his characters. I loved him before Batman Begins. He was excellent in Equilibrium and the Machinist, not to mention American Psycho <3.
5. Gary Oldman. So many movies he's fantastic in, I'd go to see a movie just for him.


Honorable Mentions

Jeffrey Donovan. Just started watching Burn Notice, and I also saw him in another show that got cancelled. He is pretty brilliant.
Bruce Willis. I also love me some Bruce Willis.

There is a distinct lack of females on everyone's lists - is this because Hollywood recruits them for boobsize?

1: Brad Pitt.. - He can act.. and well, whether its crazy or humorous or action or whatever.. I dont think theres anything hes incapable of.

2: Johnny Depp - Same as above.. hes not afraid to step outside the box and just go all out, and he does it awesomely.

3: Jack Nicholas: Again.. same reasons.. he can do anything.

4: Cate Blanchett: Had to look at other people's lists for reminders.. cause I just dont think of actors all that much.. I loved her in Lotr, and also the Narnia movies, shes like the men above, she can take anything and become a part of the story, rather than making the story about her.

5: Matt Damon: Getting to where there are alot of equals..or near equals, but I think Matt will only get better as time goes by, hes a great actor and hes very versatile.

As for no females, for some reason I saw actor, and just thought of men. There are plenty of females that are excellent as well. Althought I can only think of Julianne Moore at the moment. :/

I think so yeah.. maybe not boob size, but they want a pretty face and nice body. Alot of roles for women arent really lead roles, unless its a drama, or romantic comedy. Otherwise theyre just there for the guy to be attracted to. Theyre either dumb and sexy or tough and bitchy, or something like that.. alot of women can play those parts. How often do you see someone play a crazy drunk pirate? (Johnny Depp) or maybe a nazi soldier moved to Tibet ( 7 Years in Tibet; brad pitt)

There are some though who will go out and do something unusual, like Charlize Theron.. who is both gorgeous and talented.. but I dont see her often enough to consider her a fave.

My fav female actors are Angelina Jolie and Queen Latiefah (sp?)

That was intentional on my part, mainly because I'm still of the old school that thinks male, when I hear the word actor, and female when I hear the word actress. I understand they all go by 'actor' though, and am trying to remember that.

Semantics aside - if you really stop and think about it though how many females can disappear into a role like some of the males mentioned? Cate Blanchett is amazing, and Charlize Theron (spelling?). Meryl Streep is actually really good too though I'm not a huge fan of most of the movies she does (just a personal preference because of movie type). I think a lot of it has to do with roles available. Maybe this is a discussion for the other thread Veri started.
