I'm a firm believer of school probably still sucking after high school. In any event, at least you can sit in class, drink vodka out of a coffee cup, and jump on your laptop and facebook stalk your teacher.

So angry
So hi! I know i've ceased alot of posting but im a lurker and I mostly sleep at SA side of camp, but newho I'm so angry with school and Ima ranting here cuz most/at least some of you/ifnotall of you have been to school before.
I HATE THIS SEMESTER! I went to community college before got my assoc and moved on to a university and omfg. my first semester this past fall wasnt bad but this semester im struggling like all hell no matter what I do. I just got a test back in linguistics and i thought this time i did good at least a B on it. i memorized fn charts and studied and felt good about the results, boy i was wrong. what makes me the most mad is that i only got 2 points higher than the first test in here i took that i didnt study for and was lost as all hell. I even gotten a tutor!
This semester gets a kick to the jaw. I wish I still played video games, then i could smash and slaughter things to make me feel better! Now i just get angry and simmer.
on the plus side, my potpie is deeeeelicious. Thats about the happy point so far of my day and ive got 3 more suckarse classes to attend.

Isn't meteorology (sp) more weather? Geology more climate and earth formation? I actually think rocks are cool.. but then Im a dork.. ><

Geology is more earth formation, tectonic processes and rocks - There are a few disciplines that get more detailed into climate, but most of us don't. Environmental science does.

I took environmental science at the community college for a couple reasons : a) i dont like bio chem phys and b) im a huge nerd and was playing a druid in dnd at the time and figured it would help with rp. I liked it alot so when i had to take another science class at the university i saw Earth Science/Geology and thought hey! I liked dirt ph and weather stuff before and i just finished reading the Weather Warden book series. I dont think we offer a meterology class. I woulda took it though.
If i pay better attention id prolly do better but its just so hard not to zone out in a room of 113 and the teacher mumbling into a microphone. I do good on all the homework and labs but tank tests. classic me.

it's a shame your prof isn't more involving because it's a great field to make the classroom fun if they take the initiative. The prof here that teaches the intro lab classes is amazing - I really wish I could take one of those just to have a class with him, but I always hear his students talking about how much fun he is.

No kidding, we've been on earthquakes for a week and she hasn't mentioned Haiti and Chile only once. She has her lecture notes online and then just rewrites them on the overhead. =( My friend has geology at a different school and they talk about all sorts of things! I guess I have old school teacher is all.
