I had a sweet response made, but Gimp crashed when I was trying to figure out how to make it stroke outline. So close your eyes and picture this: that old timey WWI poster of Uncle Sam saying "I WANT YOU" and then picture it saying under that "TO BELIEVE" and then under that in small print "THAT THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS ALIENS".

If it's not the absolute coolest thing you've ever imagined, close your eyes more and try harder, cause you're obviously doing it wrong.

It has to do with the whole "searching for the truth" angle that show depicted.

Mulder thought his sister was abducted by the Greys and he sets out to find the truth of the matter.

Saying "I want to _______" means either 1.) you haven't already, or 2.) you're a petulant whiner defending whatever poor choice you've made.

"I want to fuck Angelina Jolie" <--- I haven't yet, but I want to
"But I WANT to fuck Britney Spears" <--- I probably shouldn't have/shouldn't be planning to, but I want/wanted to, damnit, and I must always have what I want

So, to me, "I want to believe" means either you're someone who is losing their faith and doesn't like it, or you're defending your belief (but still has overtones of disbelief, otherwise the defense would be like "but there really ARE aliens" and not "but I want to believe")

Yeah, X Files had a lot of (at the time) future actors in it.

I really need to re watch the entire series again. Everything ive learned about UFOlogy over the past year will give me an entire different outlook on the series.....a fresh one I might add.
