Roooooooz, you're killin me! Excellent render again. I'm really loving the lighting in this and that red hair. Love the sort of 'soft' feel to it.

I redid it with a more realistic DOF. I've had advanced render settings from RDNA for like a year, but never used it. Now I'm going back and rerendering all sorts of shit lol.

Do these advanced render settings have some cool DOF settings?? I'm working on a picture now, and I cannot get the damn DoF right. I can get the main character clear and good, but since there's multiple characters in the scene, I need them clear too.. not blurred. I only need everything behind them to have the blur.
edit: Heres the picture... I need the women, as well as the guy to be clear, and all behind them blurred.

I was thinking about that last night - I don't know enough about the script yet to figure that one out, other than to render the girls separate and then put them in. You might want to just mask the 3 of them in photoshop and then manually DOF the background.

Thanks.. I've tried using DoF setting before when rendering, but omg it really puts a strain on my PC (poser itself is hard enough on it lol). I decided to go in and do seperate rendering and manually do DoF in photoshop. It would be just soooo much easier if I could skip that postwork and have it done in poser.

There would be a few ways to do that with the Advanced Render settings. You could put in the values for the zdepth render manually instead of by actor. Or you could do similar to what Roz suggests by doing an alpha mat that you could then use to mask them out once you've used Lens Blur to do your DoF. Have two layers, blur the top as per usual, then select the alpha mask and delete it from the top layer revealing your girls below. I love my AR, and was so happy when I realized it's still working for me with PP2010 without an update LoL

Basil's last script is really neat ( http://www.runtimedna.com/Advanced-Figure-Manager.html ). You can put things on layers and hide them and render things separately really easily. You can also scale things as a group (like pick V4 and anything that is conformed will scale with her). His scripts are crazy. I hate doing DOF in Poser because it takes forever to render even with low settings just to see wtf you're doing.

I have that new one too, just haven't played with it yet. Definitely gonna whip it out when I get around to putting this big commission together tho LoL

I know how to do DoF like that in Daz advanced.. its really easy, Ive got no clue how to do that in poser or ps though without blurring shit you dont want blurred.

Daz has these nifty little line guides that you can see in your scene set up, and move when you twist the dials for the fstop and such, its so nice. Why does poser have to make everything such a pita? hehe.

Yeah, thats the tutorial I used Laschae... it works great, but since both V4 characters are in front of M4, if you cal the dof for M4, it leaves the V4's blurred a little. If you cal the dof for the girls, then M4 gets blurred. Its a pain. LOL If ya only have 1 character in the scene, then it works amazing.. multiple people not so well. :(
