Requiem for a Dream
Has anyone seen this movie? I know that Pharren has and after we talked, I watched it.
All I can say is............WOW
Its a very disturbing movie. It basically punishes the viewer. There is no happy ending - The movie starts out and then it gradually just keeps dwindling and dwindling and spiraling into darkness. The characters in the movie are well acted.
Its basically about these kids who are on drugs.....a Mother who takes these pills to lose weight and then she ends up getting hooked on them and they end up driving her crazy. So she goes to the loony house when nothing is really wrong with her besides the pills.......The characters in the movie just keep spiraling downward until they hit rock bottom. Wow what a roller coaster ride this movie was.
Its like...someone reaches their hand out to help you.....only to pull their hand away and not help you at all...in a teasingly evil manner....its how I saw this movie at times....
There is a sense of no hope
The two boys end up selling drugs to make ends meet and turn into dope fiends.....the chick in the movie (one of the dudes GF) has sex with old men for money.......
Anyway.........
I dont wanna ruin the movie - But if you like to feel depressed after watching a movie, then see this asap. Its pretty hard to watch...its sad.....its realistic.....you'll feel like someone socked you in the gut when its over.

I've been waiting for this post since we talked about the movie the other night. Now you see why I couldn't sit straight through it. I had to keep pausing it and just get out of the room and assure myself that I was still alive and people were still people.
