I cannot believe that I never saw this movie. It came out back in 1996 (the year I graduated high school) It has Sean Connery, Nicholas Cage and Ed Harris in it.
Its about some US Marines lead by Ed Harris taking 81 american hostages on Alcatraz and Sean Connery who is an escaped convict leads a team of Navy SEALS to try to rescue the hostages and defuse some bombs etc.
Good movie, wow.
I bet this movie got a lot of pub back when it came out.
BTW - I love Ed Harris. I think hes very very very VERY underrated. Hes a great actor. Who agrees?

Are you kidding? Really, you've never seen it? It's an awesome sauce movie - we always watch it when we catch it on TBS lol. Ed Harris is the shit and he makes bald sexy.

You're in the same class I was. And yes, how could you have missed this movie? I do believe it was one of the big blockbusters that year. At least you've seen it now.. you better go see if you missed anything else around then, cause if you missed that one.. well there could have been more.

Sean Connery rules in this movie, but I guess that's to be expected. This is also one of the only movies Nicholas Cage is not a complete waste of space in.

Fozzik nitpicked this movie to death iirc but we still enjoyed it :). And Kelefane got to watch it for the first time, that's always neat!
