The wet stench of mildew (aka: THE SETTING)

The limousine drops you off in a small private airport in the country where you are ushered into a helicopter with a small TIT logo near the door. After about two hours of starring at endless blue in all directions, a small island becomes visible in the distance. The island has a roughly figure eight shape with one prominent feature in the middle of each half. On the western portion, you can just make out a large building surrounded by smaller structures. The eastern portion has a speck of blue in the middle of a sea of green.
As the helicopter nears the island it circles the eastern portion a few times giving you a good view of what is now obviously a lagoon surrounded by dense forest. You think you might see small animals swinging from branch to branch, but aren’t quite sure. The northern shore of this section has a nice sandy beach of an odd light green color with dark jagged blotches of rock interspersed seemingly at random. The two halves of this figure eight shape are also connected by the same light green sand. Oddly, there appear to be wooden swinging bridges connecting both halves. After a moments reflection you realize the tide is low at the moment. Perhaps this area is underwater at high tide?

Finally, you get a decent glimpse of what appears to be the main part of the island. A large, extravagant hotel stands erect in the middle of this section, surrounded by three small, plain buildings. A slightly larger, obnoxiously pink building sits just off from these three. Just north of the hotel is a very large pool, and three hot tubs. There appears to be a mini-bar by the pool. South of the hotel you see what can only be described as a small gladiator arena, complete with a central pit filled with sand. The far western portion of the island is completely covered in an unnatural fog.

After landing on a small helipad located near the northern beach, you are loaded into a small tram for a completely unnecessary ride towards the hotel. You are escorted passed the gladiator arena towards the pool area. As you pass the arena you barely see part of what appears to be a cage around the side of the building. Just before it is completely out of sight you swear you see a black and orange tail swishing. Could there be more of these cages? You also notice that one of the three smaller buildings is padlocked shut.
Finally you are taken inside the hotel and to your room on the fifth floor where you are given instructions to wait for your host. You saw no one else on your way in, and the pilot that escorted you in left quickly. The hotel, at least, appeared to be like other nice hotels you’ve seen before. You thought you heard a loud thumping from below the ground floor as you first entered, but finally decided you were just looking for oddities at this point. Eventually you are retrieved for the meet and greet…

***OOC*** We've deliberately left much of the island up to interpretation, including the area currently fogged over. Feel free to have fun with this.

As the helicopter circles the island, Chrystal takes out some of her kids' crayons buried in the bottom of her purse and draws a map of the island to the best of her ability.

((Please let me know if I'm way off on this..there's so much description that I thought a map would be helpful!))

((EDIT: made lagoon smaller))

((EDIT: made east east and west west))

That is very good! The lagoon is probably not quite as dominant on the western island, but fantastic job.

(ooc: It is backwards. The lagoon is supposed to be on the eastern portion of the figure eight and the hotel on the western with the fog in the far west, correct? What an awesome sketch though!)
