ROUND 2 MAFIA HIT - If He Hollers
Getting Alexander to the arena really wasn't as hard as they thought it might be. He didn't seem to be all that into the role playing, but with a little enticing, a frantic Alexander fell into the arena.
(crack!)
Alexander grabbed his thigh, the projectile shot with extreme precision from the dark tunnel leading back out of the arena had come from its depths, but he couldn't see from who. Alex tried to decide whether to apply pressure or just run like hell. Maybe a little of both. Keeping his back away from the tunnel, Alexander put a little weight on his injured leg and was rewarded with mind shattering pain.
The murderers watched from the dark tunnel - a crowd was forming. Even better.
Voices from outside drifted into the arena. "Help!" Alexander yelled as he crawled away from the tunnel, off to the side to avoid a direct shot, forcing whoever it was out into the light. "Help me, I'm in here!"
"You know," one of the murderers said, "he can talk to animals."
Alexander began to feel woozy from the blood loss; a thick trail of blood laid in his wake as he crawled toward the back of the arena when he heard metal against metal - like chains clinking together. Looking up, the orange and black fluff he had seen on the helicopter trip in walked gracefully out to meet him.
Alexander observed that this fluff had two very sharp fangs. He also couldn’t help but notice that help was not coming. His eyes locked on the tiger’s. He couldn’t hide – he could barely move – and his voice had gone so raw from shouting for help that he doubted he could make enough noise to frighten the tiger. Even so, he was crawling away, trying to get to one of the tunnels with fresh determination. Attacked by a tiger? Really? He wasn’t going out that way. He’d go out on his own terms before he allowed that to happen.
The tiger took his time, allowing him a little room before stalking ever closer. He was clearly a human-trained tiger, probably raised in captivity, meant to entertain and thrill rather than maul. Big guy probably thought this was a game, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t be seriously injured if he decided to pounce.
At the mouth of one of the tunnels, Alex finally collapsed, unable to even crawl. He had to do something before he bled out, before the Tiger finished him off. Something…anything…
“I’m here.”
Alex tilted his head, staring in bewilderment at the tiger. His last thought, before slipping into unconsciousness, was that he must have lost quite a lot of blood if tigers were talking to him now.
“I’m here to rescue you.”
/ooc dun dun DUN! And the doctor saves the day. Find out how tonight at 9. For the purposes of RP today, though, assume Alex is alive and well (though he might want to stay in bed!)

"Fuck this, there's safety in numbers."
Taking off at a full run so that no one could grab her and take her away to be shot or burned alive, Miri ran to where Chrystal said she was. Nearly tripping over her sandals, she skidded to a stop in front of the desk.
"Hey." she said sheepishly.
"I'm nto feeling the alone thing right now so Im sticking with you."
Chrystal shifted a bit and looked doubtful.
"I don't have a clue to what's going on here. Do you have any idea as to who is responsible for Vinnie's murder?"
"I hadn't noticed anyone but Vinnie really," he said, "and we all know how that turned out."
He watched the notebook and pen, wondering exactly what she was writing down, and then shook his head at Christian. "I don't think it was a hate crime," he said wryly. "Why go after Vinnie first if that were the case? He didn't do anything to anyone."
"What about you, Adila?" Alex said, raising his eyebrows at the woman. "Where were you when all of this happened?"
re
"I never was one of those murder-mystery dinner theater types" she mused, tilting her head to the side and looking down at her mostly finished plate. "I hadn't thought about it, honestly, before you asked. Let me see..."
A few moments passed as Liza contemplated what little she actually knew of the goings on since she had gotten here. It seemed like a fun thing to do, nice exotic island, nice hotel, LARPing... huh. None of that got to really even be taken advantage of. What a waste. Of course, this was all still a game. At least, that's what she kept reminding herself.
"I wish they would have told me it was going to be ~this~ kind of LARP. I probably would have just skipped it." She sighed and took another bite out of her roll, still thinking.
"Nice dress, by the way. Wish I could pull off something like that." eating bread and pastries all the time was most certainly not helping her out in that area.
"Let's see then. Who do I think did it? It's hard to say this early in the game. I mean, none of us know each other, right? At least, I know I don't know anyone else that's here. But, maybe that's the catch. Maybe some of them do know others, and are in on all of this some how, or the GM is giving out little tidbits to certain people. That Vinnie the Vampire guy seemed nice enough, even if he was kind of the epitome of LARPer geekdom. I betcha that tall lawyer looking guy... ty? The Sith lord... him. I betya he has something to do with it. Guy just oozes pompous creepiness!"
Liza took another few bites, still contemplating, she added, "But that Axel ranger man, why was he even out there? Was he trying to see the tiger up close? I mean, he likes the outdoors, so maybe it was all just an accident. Maybe, if he even was shot, maybe it was a shot at the tiger because he was pouncing the guy? And if so, maybe one of the hotel people did it?"
"You got any ideas?"
Liza paused as the intercom chirpped in, listened, and sat down her fork. "Well. Well now I don't know what to say about that..."
"Well my and MY posse were on a totally different side of the island." Putting her hands up in a sign of surrender, she added. "My point is only that any of us that were alone aren't going to have a good alibi and those of us that weren't....well, they'd likely be the killers covering for each other, right?"
"I can say that I have nothing against you. I don't own a gun or even have the skills to use one, despite the inner city upbringing." She smiled a moment, remembering her mother's harsh words on guns and gangs. "I suppose I have my mother to thank for the lack of that skill set. I can't think of a reason why I would want to kill Vinnie either. I mean I felt like a complete dork in the wings and Vinnie was one of the only people who said anything nice about them."
Adila shrugged, "Anything else you want to know? Hey, do you think we should get some of those extra rolling beds and all join Chrystal in the main lobby? If we are in a large group then maybe they will have a harder time picking us off."
((OOC: She said gun but we still don't know for certain that Alex was shot by a gun, though the hit did say (crack) and the last time this player ever shot a bow it did not make that sound.
I'm suggesting we all meet in the middle,so to speak so it'd be easier to roleplay our talking out the clues and really, there is safety in numbers...though somehow the mafia still always manages to kill people. Remember folks to have a Bathroom Buddy!.
Lastly, my internet conked out and I fell asleep on the sofa waiting for it to come back up, otherwise I'd have answered more quickly.))
Adila was making some sense though. Loathe as Alex was to give up his privacy, this was turning into some kind of sick Clue game. Or Lost. Or some bad Agatha Christie novel. "Okay. It might not be a bad idea to stay together."
Of course, it might also be a terrible idea and make things easier for someone but Alex had a bad hunch that this one-at-a-time thing was how it was going to be. He didn't like being afraid either, but someone tried to kill him and hadn't finished the job. What if they did it again? Obviously they weren't done with him. He'd have to be very careful. He nodded at Adila.
Together they all headed out to the lobby where Chrystal and Liza were. "Hope you don't mind some company," Alex said.
(ooc: the crack and don't forget the 'expert precision' part too)
"Ya right. If anyone sets me on fire feel free to squirt me till it's out. "
Her emotions were getting the best of her and she was lashing out. Taking a deep breath and relaxing her shoulders Miri shook her head.
"I have no idea. Do you think maybe it's all a trick? That one girl suggested it this morning. Maybe Alex works for the island and his wounds are fake and everything is just really really good special effects."
She wasn't sure if she believed that theory herself, but it was better than the alternative. Miri sat gently on the ground and crossed her legs indian style.
"I wish Shadow jujitsu was real." She said mostly to herself.
"I'm not sure what or who I think at this point. I do think the Sith Lord or whatever is very sure of himself and pretty suspicious, but according to the chick on the intercom he's not a threat. This is so confusing and pretty scary." Jaz started rubbing her temples with her fingertips. Oh please, don't let me get a migraine now!
"All I know at this point is someone drained and lit a man on fire and then tried to take out that other man. I'm sticking with the gun idea. And frankly you'd have to be a pretty good shot to not be seen and still hit someone in the leg, in a cage no less. Didn't that man mention what a marksman he was? Has anyone even seen him around? That seems pretty odd to me. But what around her isn't odd at this point." Jaz sighed and rested her pounding head on her forearms. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the wounded man, his boyfriend, and the orange girl pushing a cot down the hall past the dining room entrance.
"Should we join them? I mean, maybe he saw something he isn't telling people yet." Jaz shrugged and stood up from the table. Fixing her dress, she followed the group to the lobby.
Overhearing, Miri's comments about the veracity of Alex's injury; Adila commented.
"Well, he's here. You can ask him if you like. Personally, I'd say that he's up for an Oscar if he can fake that drugged and pale look that he's currently sporting."
Walking to Christian, Adila said. "Want to see if we can find some of those rolling guest beds to bring in here? It'd give us all something to sleep on and something for Alex to be more comfortable in, while we... " She sighed, what the hell were they going to do? "Uhm, figure this all out."
The others were gathered, the crowd seemed to make Liza a bit anxious. Afterall, might not one of ~these~ individuals be the perpetrator? She looked everyone over cautiously, taking mental notes as she went, before chirping up.
"Hello everyone. Seems we got some things going on round here that need some explaining." She looked at Alex, and narrowed her eyes ever so slightly. "I'd personally like to know why exactly you were even at the arena, alone, to begin with, Mr. Axel."
"How, exactly, am I supposed to have faked being shot and then nearly mauled? I'd love to hear this theory."
He crossed his arms and waited, but no theory seemed forthcoming. "All I know is someone intervened. I can't tell you who it was because I was busy bleeding all over the damn place and I don't remember a single thing, not even how I got there. I just know I should have died and I didn't."
Adila had suggested to Christian that they find more beds. Alex wasn't keen on the idea of being left by himself in a crowd of possibly hostile and accusatory strangers but he was hardly going to be much help at the moment. Still, he held onto Christian's hand and shot him a look. They didn't have any more reason to trust Adila, really; she could be trying to get Christian alone. No one here was trustworthy.
((ooc: Consider it a flaw in the process... I don't know any more than any other player why Alex was there. That information wasn't given to me. I'm not RPing his ignorance for ulterior motives. You'd think having survived, he might remember something, heh, but no! Chalk it up to blood loss!))
Liza sighed, her curiosity not to be sated, it would seem. She gave a nod and moved on, "Well, the good thing is you're still alive, and you've got all your limbs attached." She gave her quirky, all to cheery smile and nod, though then thought perhaps her attempt at levity was too soon. She shrugged, and pulled over one of the couches, since everyone seemed so keen on staying in the lobby, she might as well be comfortable doing so, it was hard enough to breathe in her damn corset!
"Well, Axel can't remember why he got there, or rather how, no one was around that we know of when Vinnie the Vampire walked out into the sun, which we all know is bad for those blood sucker types... unless you're all sparkly." She rolls her eyes at that, thinking that is the most ridiculous thing to date when it came to vamps. "And now we're all here, all chummy like, with someone " She looked in Crystal's direction, "Claiming that Mr. Sith Lord is all innocent. I guess I missed the memo one when Sith Lords became bunny huggers. That about right?" She glanced around the group.
The beds could wait a moment, the answer to this might help them all figure a few things out.
((OOC: I figure this is moving slower today and we might want to discuss our supposed sheriff here. After all more than one person has cried "I'm the sheriff!" and really been crying wolf. In fact, it seems more common than not. doesn't it? ))
Christian teased his wounded lover before helping him down to hall to where some other folks had gathered. He didn't like it, not one bit. It was leaving Alex far too exposed. Hell it was leaving him too exposed but it was what it was.
“He is not faking.â€
Christian snarled with more than a little hostility before helping to settle his fiance into a chair and giving him something to prop his leg up on if he wanted.
He nodded to Topaz.
“Yeah, let's. It is that or we all lock ourselves in our rooms 24/7 until we can get out of here. You going to be alright if I vanish for a bit lover?â€
He glared meaningfully at the others in the room before following the little demon.
"I don't have a clue as to why the question thing works the way it does or why I was chosen.
"I tell you what...anyone else who thinks they're the real deal, come on up! That will be the person that I ask Victoria about tonight. As it stands right now, I'm going to ask her about you, Topaz!
"Who knows if I'm going to live through the night? I know that I'm innocent and Stanley is innocent, and I'm hoping that if I'm as loud as hell, I'll live another day and maybe live to see my kids!"
Chrystal emphatically slams down the wooden dildo like a gavel.
((OOC: Calling all sheriffs! Come on up and make your claim -- you'll be next in line for an ID. And Mafia: do you kill me and prove me right or let me live and try to convince the townies that I'm fake? As much as I like voting for Roz, I'm changing to Mai unless some else would like to step up and accept my vote. RARRRRRRRRRRRR.....*rends garments* *gnashes teeth*))
He snorted. "I'll take my chances with the tiger again before I trust your crystal ball."
Alex nodded at Christian, letting him know he'd be just fine if the two of them wanted to round up some folks and get beds. He thought staying in a group was a much better idea than wandering off alone again.
