The Walking Dead (TV series on AMC)

Anyone catch the season premier? Its a new TV series based around the Zombie apocalypse. The season premier was awesome IMO. Its how I like Zombie flicks. Serious, slow moving flesh eating Zombies and lots of head explosions.

Whoever created the idea to have a Zombie TV series is a fucking genius in my book.

Im betting the guy that was handcuffed on the roof and broke free lead those zombies to the camp.

That's the only explanation for a whole wave of them hitting at once like that, imho tbhwu afk2p ttyl tgif lol.

I was glad to see the dude in the tent get turned into zombie food! It sucks about that lady's sister though.

Yeah it had to be Merrill that brought all those zombies in the truck. Mike was all weaksauce about there being only 2 more ep's left in the season. Looks like they're going to do a book a season. That's really dragging it out though. I can't wait to see the Carl/Shane/and main dude (can't think of his name all of the sudden) shit go down.

Yeah, im kinda sad that only two EPs are left also =(

Hopefully the next season wont be a long wait.

I havent waited impatiently for a TV series like this from week to week since the X-Files.

You should be watching "Fringe" then.

People keep telling me that.

I havent watched a single EP yet.

Can you give me a run down on what the show is about? Is it more of the "Mythical Beast/Paranormal" (aka Bigfoot,Werewolf, ghosts et al) side of X Files? Without the Extraterrestrial angle involved?

It's xfiles only better and about parallel worlds. Seriously, season 1 will rock your world. I need to catch up.

Walter is a mad scientist that has apparently worked on projects related to every paranormal event ever. He's the comic relief against the straight laced ambitious (female) FBI agent and her romantic interest - Walter's son. Throw in a jack-of-all-trades character there to do shitloads of footwork off camera and you've got Fringe Division! Everyone either has an IQ of 400 or is an FBI agent with a photographic memory and world-class marksmanship.

I've never watched X-Files, so I don't know how much overlap there is, but the main story arc deals with the interaction between parallel universes. Throwaway episodes deal with other shit like mind control, mutations, some large-scale conspiracies, and stuff like that.

I think you'd like it. It doesn't have any extraterrestrials afaik, but a lot of other Art Bell type stuff pops up all the time.

I like it a lot more than X-Files. It's more, uh, commercial, I guess. Not as somber and dark and slow-paced, and they use a lot of special effects and actually show you shit instead of a glimpse of a guy wearing a garbage bag on his head in a dark room. And some of it is freaky as hell. I bought the first two seasons on DVD just on a recommendation from a friend, and I was sad when the last episode ended. Can't wait for season 3 to come out on DVD.

Walter is awesome. He's always cooking up some LSD or something in his lab. BEST MAD SCIENTIST EVER! Well, 2nd best, after Dr. Horrible.

xfiles is great up until they get way too into the conspiracy crap. The straight xfile shows were the best.

some large-scale conspiracies

I guess I forgot, there is a bunch of conspiracy shit in Fringe sorta. The shapeshifter soldiers, Massive Dynamic, etc. Man... now I want to re-watch both seasons.

But anyways, yeah, The Walking Dead, woohoo! I haven't seen it and I'm not too interested in zombies. So. Have at it, then.

Did it feel like it skipped stuff from last week to this one? We just watched it tonight, and when it ended showing the previous stuff, we were like huh? I just wanna make sure we didn't lose an episode somehow where they show them making their way into town and finding dude's hand, or the other cop beating the crap outta the wife beater.
ROzbeans 12 years ago
No I noticed that, too. There wasn't anything else, as far as I know.

I'm pretty sure all the stuff that happened in the 'previously' happened in the previous episode(s). I don't think they showed anything that we didn't actually see happen.

Oh i loved it. I loved the whole Alien abduction angle with Fox Mulder and then how Mulder found out what happened to his sister in that Closure episode. The ending of that episode was.....wow. I got emotional as hell watching it lol =\ the music score was amazing.

I think you guys missed one. That stuff happened in the third episode.
Eve 12 years ago
Well everything else we had seen far as I could tell. The last one we saw ended with the 4 guys parking the van and heading into town, but we didn't see them get to the rooftop until it opened there this week. As for the asshole getting his beating, all I can remember of him is him being an ass with the fire and Shane (?) telling him to tone it down. When did he put the smack down on him?
KaAnna 12 years ago
Sounds like you may have missed one. Because the end of the previous episode was them arriving on the rooftop and finding the hand. Maybe you just missed the end?
ROzbeans 12 years ago
Well I noticed the previous stuff was an 1 episode back. But yeah they found Merrill's hand and the asshole abusive dick got beat down. I gotta say, it is slow as hell =/

Roz, do you like the series so far?
