I played tons of the pen and paper version of the game as well, and the first computer game they put out a long time ago.. I don't remember the name of it.
I even did LARP vampire.. though I find it kind of odd. Was a ghoul though... you know... aka: walking snack.
Mafia: What's next?
I'd like to hear your suggestions for future Mafia scenarios. What universe would you like to play in?
A few of my ideas:
Hogwarts Mafia: David Bowles (hi2u David) and I ran a Harry Potter game around the time the second movie came out. Since then, there's been another movie and another book, and some fresh new material to work with, so I'd love to run another.
WoW Mafia: I don't know a whole lot about the game, having only played the lowbie end of it, but I'm willing to give it a go.
Lord of the Rings Mafia: Since it seems everyone here has read it or watched the movies, this seemed like an obvious choice.
Blade Runner Mafia: Something sci fi, perhaps? I don't know how many are familier with the story or movie, but I could keep it simple enough that you wouldn't have to read the book to keep up.
Soap Opera Mafia: I've always thought this would be a fun one. Something a little lighter and more funny than the usual dark and brooding things I tend to lean toward.
Fairy Tale Mafia: Play your favorite classic Fairy tale character!
OR
Shrek Mafia: This might have more plot potential than Fairy Tale Mafia, though I don't know if I can be as funny as those movies were :\.

Dark Tower Mafia would probably require that I finish the series :X.
As far as The Stand Mafia goes, I was thinking a story line that took place after the flu but before everyone got together in their respective camps. I think it would be awesome to, say, start with a group in Texas and take them North, to either Colorado or Nevada, and have them killing each other on the way O_O.

The Shawshank Redemption? Or some other set in prison one? *grins* who wants to be my bitch?
Clerks? Not quite sure how that would work, but it was a funny movie.

And then there's a heap of horror movies to lift ideas from. Always did like horror movies.

i was thinking, and it may be lameo but we could RP ourselves ^.^
Like Mae throws a angry crayon get together at her house. so we all fly out to alaska and thats when things get wonky. We could be ourselves per say, and write little bios about ourselves just like the other mafias.
Or, hmm we could rp each other. Make a little list of us who are gonna play and then grab a name, even if the bio/personality doesnt match them it would still be funny. I could be Ryala and show up all in pink with tap shoes on.

Office Mafia - Its another long day on the job, people are willing to kill to get that coveted promotion and rumors are running rampant around the water cooler!
The more we talked about this the funnier it got. Course we could be out of our minds.
But the basic idea of a bunch of backstabbing career climbers was pretty funny. Character possibilities like the receptionist who is always on personal calls on the phone, the paranoid gossip who's in everyone else's business, the over worked, over stressed technician who has already had 10 cups of coffee...etc...
The killing scenarios for this were deeply satisfying for anyone who's worked in an office... death by stapler for the person who keeps taking it and never returning it!
