Girly girl hair thread

My daughter has wild crazy Hermione hair - long, thick, and very curly. Once in a great while I'll flat iron it for her. It takes for-fucking ever and by the end of the evening the little curls are starting up again at the roots. Any tips for making the straightness last, at least for the entire evening?

Fly to Arizona for the day. That's all I have, I shave mine

EDIT: Because no one should ever say "I have shave mine"

There are products out there made specifically for flat ironing. Helps protect it against damage and holds. Hit up Regis or Sally's for something like that. It's cuz it's humid as hell out there where y'all are at =/

Mine looks like Hermoine's hair.. its not super curly.. but plenty curly to poof and frizz.. even in AZ.

I would suggest not drying it with a towel after her shower, but use a hair dryer, with some John Frieda in it.. THEN straight iron. That's what works best for me.

I also use moisturizing shampoo/cond ( never anything for Body) but I occasionally use no frizz shampoos as well. Pantene is my favorite.. but I don't pay more than 5 bucks a bottle for shampoo ><

Im the same way lol. Im my own barber. I shave my head as well.

Mainly because going to get your hair cut these days any where nice is getting fucking expensive and also, I like my head shaved. It was comfortable in Arizona and its comfortable in Texas. The heat sucks.

My hair looks like a food processor raped a muskrat.

I use Head and Shoulders, but only on my shoulders. I use a special muskrat shampoo on my hair.

And Gongaa gets his nails done to look long and sharp like muskrat claws!

I use 99 cent conditioner (89 on sale). The kid meanwhile uses the Deva Curl system, which is expensive as all get out but seems to work for most day where she's wearing her hair curly.

I did figure out to do most of the work with the hair dryer and a giant round brush and then flat iron at the end. I blow it out, then spray a section with the flat iron stuff, iron, spray, iron, spray, etc. That stuff doesn't seem to do anything for hold, though, just makes it silky and shiny. I was thinking maybe there was something I should be doing at the end of the process, not sure. I'll check out Sally's, that seems to be the place to go.

I usually look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards at high speed. But I used to blow dry my hair, then straighten it with that heat protecter stuff, and it lasted til I washed it next.

However, the last 2 summers, I have shaved my head >.< Must resist this summer! Damn heat :(

My coworker with awesome curly who does an awesome job with a flat iron recommends fx flat iron spray she gets 2-3 days unless it gets wet make sure to shake well before using.

A crappy flat iron sucks as well. I paid 100 for mine (rip off, I probably could've gotten the same quality at Sally's for like 60) but invest in a good one - the one my stylist uses is the shit.
