Hello, Eve!

The banner you made for this event is neat. I really like the handwriting looking text at the bottom and the way you (I don't know the right term) put two colors on top of each other, making it jump off the screen at one - LIKE SCARY SPIDERS!!!@#!@

Thanks for your hard work, Eve!

Just finished putting up Halloween decorations (early I know, but I wanted to get the good stuff before they disappeared off the shelves), got all the materials together for my toddler's costume (just need to sit down and sew it at some point), and have started on ideas for my NOTAC assignment!

Just waiting on the dress my mom found for Gypsy to see how much hemming it needs LoL Got her a gorgeous witch hat and a wig the other day. Don't know if she'll go for green face paint or not

I was gloating about finally finishing my toddler's costume yesterday (and that it wasn't even October yet) so I could move on to other projects when my mother invites me to a Witches Luncheon, mentioning that the ladies are encouraged to dress up for the part. Arrgh. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! =D

That's when you just tell them that witches today look like anyone else, and just go in your normal clothes

No one got that David was 'Shaun of the Dead' last year - I was very upset =/

He wants to be a jawa. I made the costume too big (I didn't say I had sewing skillz) so hacked off the arms and robe after it was finished. This is the first draft. We decided the glowy eyes were too big and replaced them with a smaller version in the bottom photo. My husband wants him to carry a jawa gun around, but I know full well that the kid will just whack me with it repeatedly so I'm ignoring that part. If he wants it done, husband's gotta make it, not me. Not gonna remind him either.

Holy shit, that is COOL. Your Woody costume last year was awesome, too. Dang, do David's for me =(

That is too cool Jenn! Gypsy is actually going the witch route this year, since she hasn't done it since she was 3 or 4 I forget. Got her a wig and hat, and Mom just sent some black dress she actually found at Goodwill the other day which inspired the whole idea. As long as I never have to do the mummy bit again, I'm golden LoL

that is the coolest Jawa ever! Roz are there pictures of David as Shaun!?

My sons going as Luigi (store bought im not patient enough to make it) and im going as the ? box from the game. That im making, less intensive of a project. Now im trying to decide if I should have a flower headband and be fire power OR if i should carry gold coins to whip at people when they hit me.

LoL Perfect Shaun of the Dead! That's too funny too Dia! My one nephew is going as Luigi, too. Tried to get his lil brother to do Mario, but apparently he spotted the Capt America one and had to have that oops.

I used this link as a guide to the jawa costume. Three yards of fabric was more than enough to put it together. The only pain-in-the-ass were the eyes because when I google how people made the glowing eyes, the men would be all "yeah, I bought a couple of led lights and then I wired them up and hooked them to a battery powered pack blah blah blah." I blinked because I don't know shit about shit about wiring anything. So I just went to roducts-floral-accessories-tools%2clights%2cfloralwrap&start=4"">Michaels and Joann's Fabric store -- both have their own versions of light up things that go into balloons and candles. No wiring necessary whatsoever.

@Eve -- Do you have pics of the mummy version? I'm curious!!

It was such a pita! I neglected to think about shoes so she was just wearing her comfy sneakers. But all of those strips were cloth torn into strips by hand, and then I think I safety-pinned each strip together til I had about three good sized rolls. Getting it on her and keeping it in place was just ugh! If I was doing it again, I'd probably find a way to actually attach the strips to a shirt and pants that she could put on instead of putting it all on her directly over the shirt/pants. Should have painted her face, too, but she's picky about that stuff LoL Lil hussy won't let me paint her face green this year either! *pouts*

They are all awesome! Last year Dave (hubby) wanted to be Scott Pilgrim. So I made his costume. Okay so most of it was finding the right parts, but the t-shirt I made myself cause, well, my man's a bit husky and all the stupid 'real' shirts only went up to xl and were also like friggin $30 each. No one knew he was either so sad. This year we're going mobster and flapper girl. Yay gotta get sewing once my fabric gets here!
