i dont know..i've had my knee operated on 3 times and my shoulder 1 time and i wasnt scared at all..i guess cause its my mouth

Tonsilectomy is easy stuff compared to the others, but your throat hurts alot once it's done so eat lots of popsicles and jello!

when you do operations on your knee there isnt a major artery that is just an inch from the incision site. Adult tonsilectomys are no joke. Go to web md and check out anatomy and find out where the tonsil is in relation to the carotid arteries.
I am sure youll be fine, but just in case i would make sure you have all your finances and relation in order.

Blaz, I had mine taken out a few years ago. Granted it was more painful than the 4 knee surgeries and broken leg. BUT the liquid codiene was AWESOME! Mine was done with a laser as an outpatient surgery. I was back home by noon :)
Since you don't like ice cream, I recommend fruit smoothies!
Strawberry Banana Fruit Smoothie
1 whole banana
1 cup of frozen whole strawberries
1 cup of plain or vanilla yogurt
1 cup of plain or vanilla soy milk
Blend for about a minute or until it's all chopped up and blended!
You can substitute any type of fruit just so it comes out to about 2 cups. Makes around 32 oz
Also make sure you use at least 1 cup of frozen fruit to keep it cold!

Well the artery is pretty far away, but your tongue is right there. I would be more worried about a slip and your tongue getting sliced off and falling into one of your lungs. That would suck, choked by your own tongue.
Edit: Then they would have to open up your chest and slice open your lung to get it back. That is teh suck
