Is that the Screenshot manips on what looks like a canvas background with the beautiful weapon effects? I thought they looked familiar but I was having a difficult time placing them.

People who steal shit infuriate me. Whether it's artwork online, or my cell phone and the coins I'd been collecting and saving since I was 5 in a cheesy red velvet box with a rose lid and a note on the inside that said "I love you daddy" in my 5 year-old handwriting with scratch and sniff lemon sun smiley face stickers. Fuck you, you damn crack addict you needed that stupid box of coins I loved so much to pay for your next addiction.

That just makes me very very ill. You know what is cool though. We know what she looks like and where she lives...hell we even have her license plate number. Because she's an idiot and posts pictures like that on the internet. Who wants to go stalk her with me?

I was staring at the shaman EQ2 piece. I KNEW I'd seen that lately. I could have sworn it was yours, just couldn't find the original post this morning.

The other screenshot art definitely looks like Wyndforge's. His stuff is absolutely gorgeous. Just couldn't think of his name this morning. (Love finding post like this before fully awake...GRRRR)

Someone on NS (I think it was Maeya) pointed out that ALOT of the things taken were work posted up on NS.

Omg...out of all the art thieves I've seen over the past years, this is quickly reaching the top spot.

What the crap?!?! That's the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard.

I'll use Maeya's car example again. That's like saying "Leaving your car in this parking lot grants the right of any other driver to hop in and take a ride."

WTF!!!??? Did they just add that because of all the people jumping them for their theft? You can't put that there and say people are waiving their rights, that's not legal. GRRR.

I don't think my screenshot work is good enough for anyone to steal, but now that I'm getting into 3d renders, if someone stole something that I slaved over for 3-4 hours I would be royally pissed.

I remember making a sig for someone once and I found an awesome drow picture on the internet, emailed the artist, got permission to use it, and made a gorgeous sig (gorgeous only because the artwork was so beautiful) and the person didn't even use it =\

To my knowledge, I've never taken anyone's work without permission, but if it were brought to my attention that I did, I would feel so unbelievably bad that I would do anything to make amends. That this person hasn't bothered to apologize demonstrates (to me, anyway) that she just doesn't give a crap.

That doesn't mean it's ok for someone on their board to go to a different board and steal artwork from there.

Also those who posted in anger on that thread have now given anyone there permission to use their work I suggest putting something up at your own sites saying no one is allowed to use your work without express permission from you, if you don't already have something like that.

I saw a lot of familiar pictures, but couldn't place the artist...This is really upsetting. I hope the sigs get taken down...and that mod is a jerk for trying to justify it.

This makes me fucking sick. I'm so sorry this is happening to you guys.

I would really like to hear some ideas come out of this for ways to prevent this bullshit from happening. I know I have viewed photography sites where you cannot right click/save the image but I have no understanding of how that is done.

There are ways around it Veri if you really want the picture, trust me. I've found things I liked enough to keep that I had to do things like highlight, copy, paste and save or do an edit>open in editor and then saved from there. If someone wants it, they will find a way. Especially since it is a file on their computer when they view it. Short of doing it in flash maybe? I can't figure out how to save things like that so maybe that's a way. A lot of work tho.. but it could be worth it.

I used to put a watermark of sorts on my work at my website, but then the people I made the sigs for couldn't use them linked from my site, so I stopped to save them the hassle of finding a different place to host it.

One could do multiple watermarks all over the piece, but then you lose some of the visual quality and people visiting your site can't see it as well.
