how BS is that? Preaching when they have 1) No right to decide what someone's interests and hobbies are and 2) No idea what religious background their customer is. I'm insulted. And imagine if I was a buddist or muslim.. I fucking hate WalMart, I really do. Damn cocksucking greedy SOBs.

don't hold back love, tell us how you really feel...

I can sum up my feelings for Wal-Mart (or as we call it Lawn-Dart) in the words of Mr.Hat 'YOU GO TO HELL! YOU GOTO HELL AND YOU DIE!'

Haha, I can imagine that someone like Dogbert is running Walmart.

Hell if I owned that company, I figure why the hell not put my agenda up there. Of course I'd have people put up links that bring you right back to the search menu, I would imagine it would take some people quite a long time to figure that out.

How do you reproduce this? I can't figure it out.

p.s. if you were really thinking about buying poker chips from wal*mart, don't do it. They are low quality. The colors are cheap and glossy looking, and the chip doesn't feel like real quality chips do.

I agree. Go to the nearest casino, and smuggle them out one at a time. :) ( I had a collection, but then I went back and spent them)

In the shower I was thinking of this and I realized that back in 2001/2002, Amazon.com did something not entirely dissimilar - they altered their prices by 5-10 cents depending on what browser the shopper used.

It made a lot of people mad.

This got me thinking about Wal-Mart.

I live in a very nice suburb of Nashville. Ten minutes south is a not-so-nice suburb. There was a WalMart there, which happened to be the end of the public bus routes from closer to the city. Needless to say, it was a very trashy Wal-Mart , and I avoided it at all costs.

Now, ten minutes north of me was another Wal-Mart , also very trashy, but in my opinion only because it was such an old store, and not due to the people who shopped there.

Both have been closed now. A brand new Wal-Mart has been built in my suburb, just opened on the 24th. Thankfully, it's beyond the route of the city bus line. Call me a snob, but I'm glad that the kind of people I saw at the old Wal-Mart south of here will be fewer in this new store.

Some kind of committee here in town would not permit Wal-Mart to be built unless they agreed to a certain look for the building on the exterior. The new store is on a fairly new road paired with other new retail stores and officers, and sometime in the next year a new Town Hall. Every building on the road is some type of red brick. Even the new Wal-Mart.

I read an article in the local paper that it's the first Wal-Mart to be build with red brick. There are also some really lovely architectual details on the exterior of the building. I wish I had a photograph to show you guys. If there weren't a big sign that said "Wal-Mart" I would have never guessed that's what it is.

I've been to the new store once, briefly. It's extremely nice. It's the largest Wal-Mart I've ever been in with the biggest selection I've ever seen. As much as I have always hated shopping at Wal-Mart (the snob in me who doesn't want to shop with the type of people you often see there), I can't help but say that I'm impressed with the new store. Reportedly, the store has brought 300 new jobs to my town, which is a good thing. I'm also impressed that the company agreed to build their store to match the image of the other buildings on this road.

Wal-Mart has it's cons, but it has it's pros as well. I live in the Bible Belt so I'm kind of desensitized to all the Jesus Freaks trying to impose their beliefs on me. Let them direct you to Bibles when you're looking for poker chips. I'm a person of free will and I'm okay with saying "No thanks, I'd rather be a sinner."

Everyone say that with me now. All together!

(And shop at Target)

You know there are somethings you can only find at walmart and not pay out the nose for it. For those things I will brave wal-mart for everything else there is Target, HEB Plus and the Mall. You can find super cheap stuff at the mall if you look. I am a huge fan of the clearance rack coupled with my 15% coupon from my sunday paper, thank you very much.

And I agree with you 110% Erin on the clientele of the area affecting if I shop there or not. I would drive past 2 Wal Marts close to where we used to live to go to one in a more upscale suburban area if I had to go there. Target is the shiznit! But ya know I live in Texas and we have our share of people who wanna shove religion down your throat which I have lived with all my life (my Dad.. ugh /rolleyes) But I still love to rant and rail against them. Not to mention Wal Mart is a greedy evil corporation that's put tons of other businesses out of business, along with several manufacturers and caused thousands of jobs to move overseas to meet their stringent price dropping requirements which they then undercut by creating their own brand and financially breaking the companies that bent over backwards for them.. *deep breath* Annnnnnyway.. Target >>>>>>>>> LawnDart (aka WalMart)
